i think Facebook can be addicting at first because of the games but when the newness wears off the addiction fades. Some of my friends think so also.

Yes it is! The good thing is that we can reconnect with some friends that we had lost contact long time ago and in the same time, we know what events or activities held around us; these days, the news spread faster on facebook rather than any websites. For the bad one, I think is the time spent on it that sometimes we don't even realize that we have other important thing to do! It happens to me often! :p

Humm nice discussion well honestly speaking Facebook is a addiction for me because i use facebook everyday to check my daily status of friends and chat with friends and have fun along with friends, facebook has become a hanging spot to me it seems to me like a place where all my friends meet together and chat and have fun, now coming to the bad effects of facebook 1) Its time consuming if your addicted 2) You can have threads from strangers while chatting you may not know with whom you are chatting 3) You security and privacy is endangered if you dont take appropriate measure to have safety with account Now coming to the Good effects 1)You get to meet lot of friends and make new friends\ 2) you can share anything videos, status, and play games together 3) A best way to communicate through your friends

I don't think facebook is an addiction as far as I'm concerned that's because I can still live without it. As long as you don't meet with strangers or do something that would harm other people and instead use it to connect to long lost friends and past the time with it's games then it's just like any other website.

Facebook is an addiction for some people who are so fascinated with it that they spend long hours on it every day, even if that doesn't bring them any money, but I think this type of addiction can be prevented.I don't spend more than 15 minutes a day on Facebook checking for updates from my friends or posting links, and that's all,I was able to avoid Facebook addiction.

Hi hemantbatra, Yes I would say its a addiction for few reasons compared to other sites. One is its like a open diary, anyone can read others personal details and latest updates. The curiosity makes it more addictive. Rest is we can find many friends so easily here compared to other sites.

I think facebook has now become an addiction for most of its users. As far as I know about my friends who use facebook a lot, they intially used it just to socailize through chatting as wall posts. But as the facebook has added new features like games and all it has attracted a lot of people. The situation now is that it has become a status symbol for young people. They want to have more number of friends in their profile. They want to have a unique status update and always want to have more likes on them. They put pics on facebook about even insignificant things too. Its has become a saying nowadays that "whatever you do, put it on facebook". People are more addicted to it, and i think that can only have negative effects only.

hi there.. I have Facebook and I don't find Facebook that addictive.but people around me from the way I see it, they seems to be addicted to Facebook. They play Facebook games and comment on post. According to a study conducted by a body I don't remember who, Facebook is among the main factor of the decline of academic performance. From my own observation, this happens to be true. That's all I want to share..
