I always have mouth sores every single month, sometimes it's in my inner cheek, but it's the first time I have it on my tongue, I never even bit it- it just became a mouth sore..and it really hurts..even if I just swallow.
Any tips on how to get rid of this?

Hi ladylee1993!
Do you have braces that touches your cheek? or maybe you drink too cold or to hot drinks? Those can cause mouth sores. If you don't have those, maybe you can go to your doctor and ask for medical check, I suspect that is vitamin deficiency.
Or maybe you get infected by a virus. Be happy and be healthy!

Yes, having braces could be a factor too because while we eats or talks these braces touches our cheeks and tongue.Gargling with water mixed with salt helps for fast healing.Application of over the counter reliever is not advisable too, it's really best to consult a doctor.

I suspect you sleep with your mouth slightly or more open because you have some problems breathing from nose.
I have the same problem and I am thinking on getting a nose operation to fix it.
I really think that the intake of air you take form nose is not enough, that causes you to open your mouth to breathe in the night, and that dries the mouth much. Is it possible the drying causes sores too? I am not sure on that, but you should ask a doctor for sure.

I don't think it's possible to have mouth sores if we sleeps with our mouth open because as you have said it easily dries up our mouth. One more thing we may not know if we are doing such unless somebody do tell us. This is just a myth my friend.I have read in some medical journal that some factors could be vitamin deficiency, hormone changes especially to women and stress.Yes seeing a doctor is the best option.

Hi lady,
I feel sorry for you my dear.Have you consulted a doctor about this sore of yours.I know you would be uncomfortable even opening up your mouth, what more when you eats.As other members here have suggested try gargling with water mixed with little salt.I know it's painful once the salt water touches the sore but it really helps.Stress, monthly periods and vitamin 12 deficiency could be a factor of having sores, as some medical experts have said.Anyway it's in your tongue so nothing to be ashamed off.Others won't see it.I do hope it heals soon and do take care.

Maybe you have a mouth sore because your immune system is weak.Try to consume food rich in Vitamin C like citrus fruit or just take some supplement.Try also to relax, maybe stress is a contributing factor on it.You can gargle warm salt solution or some over the counter mouthwash to relieve mouth sores. If you continue to have mouth sores, try to consult a doctor, maybe it's a symptom of other diseases.
