Grand Vitara and Sante Fe

We are in the market for a new vehicle. I now have an Oldsmobile Alero. My husband is 6'3 and I am 5'11 and this Alero is very low to the ground. So we decided to go with a SUV. Our 2 favorites are the Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Huyandai Sante Fe. I am wondering if any of my friends here have these vehicles and can help us make the decision. Each have their pros and cons...but now to decide. We have also realized that it is cheaper to buy new....with the better interest rates and the incentives( cash back, free oils changes for 150,000 kms, $750 worth of gas). i guess i just want to hear everyone's opinions.

I really don't know anything about either of the vehicles that you are thinking about. However, I did buy a brand new car several years ago and though I am still driving that car after eight years, I don't think that there would be enough incentives in the world to convince me to buy a brand new car again. The reason for that is that they depriciate in value far too quickly. I would rather buy a vehicle that is a few years old that isn't going to be worth half as much as soon as I drive it off the lot.

I don't have either but went from a car to an SUV...and I would never drive a car again. I feel so much safer in a SUV....being up somewhat...being able to see more of the road at night....I hope you find the one you really want and are happy with it. I have a Ford Escape....love it!

We went for a drive this last long weekend. As it was going to be a 4 hour drive from our house, and as I don't trust our van to get us there, I rented a car for the drive. They gave a Suzuki Grand Vitara!
I must say, I was impressed! I couldn't say that it was as fast as I would have wanted, but it was really comfortable. I liked it!
