You gotta Love this guy I guess. Well, this is actually his gratitude for our mom with regards to her secret planned in finishing the car repairs. though my brother was reminded of the other tire that needed replacement, the cars breaks had been fixed, for now. I advice him to check those things that the mechanic advised. Back to the Router, I thought he was planning to give some parts that needed to be put up but it's actually a NetGear wireless router. but why the router? My mom was given a CPU months ago and so that I wouldn't be bother with my usual social networking hobbies while she can facebook on her own PC. But there's a problem, though he tested it in his Laptops back his home and worked, It didn't work in my desktop. it seems my Pro-Link Modem and this Net Gear router aren't getting along Or it has something to do with my CPU's old motherboard model(pentium 4), who knows? Not a ref link... http://www.prolink2u.com/new/products/gallery/H5200/H5200.png He'd probably asked his friends help since it was merely given to him or he bought it.

I do believe that Netgear is having some problems in the router department! My boyfriend was having problems with his internet so he got rid of that company and went with a whole new company, but he was still having problems. They told him his Netgear router was too old, so he chucked it and bought a new one. And he is still having problems. He says that it is his internet connection... but I have my doubts. Especially after reading your story.

Yes, well it worked on his laptop just fine. It's when he hooked his 360 up to it and we try to stream movies that it doesn't want to work. Maybe these new one's can't handle more than one task assigned to them even though they are supposed to support 5 computers on them easily. Thank you for the 'best response'

Hello dismalgrin! WOW REALLY! I guess that's why my brother's friend easily gave that freaking router because they know they will have problems with it. I'd better tell this to my brother maybe he will think about borrowing another internet router instead. No, what my brother did was brought the connection back between the modem and CPU and it worked. i think the modem and Router was incompatible.

Hi Letran, It would have been great if it had worked so that both of you could be online at the same time. *rats* lol... How about trying to sell it and buying one that may work? Maybe you can get a few bucks towards one that will be compatible.

Hello hardworkinggurl, It's been a good day but i wasn't in the mood to praise him for giving us the router. i think it has something to do with my Modem, because he has a different internet provider. probably i should asked him a lot of questions when it comes to compatibility but it's alright i think i can manage for now not to use it.

This is the same type of router I bought yrs. ago and actually just started using a couple of months ago. I have had no problems with it, and actually like mine. It works great with my Computer and with Windows Vista and Windows 7. But I also have high speed internet thru Comcast which is an excellent plus as well.

Pentium 4 is a CPU model, not a motherboard. And that thing you have is a modem router. You don't have to plug in another modem, just connect the RJ45 cable (or w\e it is) and you should be all set.

Hello Syn, It worked for my brother since we are both using linux but it didn't worked for me. it worked once or twice but it didn't repeat itself, something must be wrong with my CPU being old. we really don't know why, with the modem, we have internet connection but if it's modem with router to CPU nothing works.
