To me this is bizarre, what say you?

I had my first ever tattoo last week which I had on my arm. I had a conversation with my friend, who had one done at the same time, as to the positioning of tattoos. As she had 2 on her back I asked her why she had them done on her back. She looked at me rather puzzled until I explained my question. The way I see it is that you pay all that money and go through that discomfort to have it somewhere where you can't see it! I don't get it. She said that but everyone else sees it and I said that I had a tattoo for me, no-one else, and I want one where I can see it and appreciate it. By the end of the conversation with her, she was in total agreement with me hahaha What are your views on this?

That is kind of crazy to get one where you can not see it but a lot of people do it. My daughter had one put just above her ankle and no one she it because she always were's pants or shock. Go figure. Have a Blessed Day

Hi there emilyn1997 The thing is with your daughter is that she knows it is there and she can see it when she wants or can choose to display if she wishes I just don't get why someone would have one where they can't see it, seems pointless to me! Thanks for your response

I dislike tattoos, they are ugly to me and an abuse of your body all the best urban

Why have one done at all? I see tattoos as elective disfigurement and find them pretty repulsive. That said if you must have one then why hide it away? Unless you are embarrassed by it of course or find that it clashes with your ocupation. Each to our own but tattoos, piercings and brandings are all things that I associate with the nasty events in history and are done to give strength to a percieved character weakness. I bet not too many concentration camp survivors rushed out to have new ones after their release. Sorry if I went off topic but that's how I feel. Sad.

Hi there p1kef1sh I can see how passionate you are about this subject and I respect your views. At least with piercings they can be removed with little evidence of them having ever been there apart from those big holes that some choose to opt which certainly isn't my cup of tea. Don't get me started on branding that really is off the scale!! Thanks for your response as always p1key X

Humbug! I never thought about it this way but I will remember this next time someone does get one on their back and or in a hidden spot no one can see. I do have a small one on the left side of my pelvis. I can very easily see mine and the only other person who can is a privileged one. Usually people who get them in hidden places is because they do not want anyone to see them due to work constraints, etc.. but I like your response to your friend and will use it too.

Hi hardworkinggurl I don't think it matters if anyone else can see it or not I just think that the beholder of the tattoo should be able to see it. Someone else said to me that they were thinking of getting one on their stomach but her partner pointed out to her that she doesn't wear crop tops in order to show it off but I told her that you have a tattoo for yourself not anyone else and that she could admire it any time she liked, no one else has to see it because she doesn't like her stomach since childbirth! I am glad that you like my reasoning and it makes perfect sense to me hahaha Thanks for your response
