He attracts negativity

I have a gay friend whom i really like very much because he's so funny and smart. He doesn't seem to be a negative person and there's no dull moments with him. However, certain negative things seem to be attracted to him. He lost his laptop in our workplace before and it was just right in his cubicle. Nobody has ever lost a laptop there before so we suspect an outsider was able to get in unnoticed. A week after that he lost his wallet while taking public transportation. And his partner tends to cheat on him. He has changed countless partners within a year and the reason for breaking up was that they cheated on him, ALWAYS! I wonder how can someone so jolly attract such negative things in life?

Find someone just like him. A person who always get into trouble. If they team up, since they are both negative, positive things might happen. It's a rule right? Negative and negative equals to positive. :D

That's a mathematical rule. Like poles repel though. So I don't think that would work.

if that won't work i'll call my priest and have him blessed to ward away the negative spirits. maybe that will have some effect :D

That's a sad list of fate. But it always helps that his outlook remain positive despite the misfortunes that he is encountering. I couldn't be certain as to ways on how to attract "positive" experiences.Perhaps he might need to ascertain first anyone who "desire" to be his partner? About his losing things, he need to be really careful because it is his own undoing that he lost them. Better be cautious next time. Money does not just fall out of the sky, you know.

Actually he's not a careless person and the funny thing is that, he never left his laptop unattended. He's cubicle is situated a little bit far from the door and my cubicle can be seen first. In fact i always left my laptop lying around the cubicle and the crazy thing is mine is more expensive and looks more attractive compared to his. That's why we really wondered about that thing and how it really happened. It remains a mystery to us until now.

That's puzzling indeed. If I may have to stretch my imagination, i would likely think that the laptop had something in it that's far more valuable..like a map to a treasure perhaps? Anyway, let's just contend ourselves with the fact that only his things are gone. There are far more unfortunate ones out there who not only lost their belongings but their own lives as well. In fact, let me share you the story of an acquaintance. He had bumped someone via his vehicle and killed the victim by accident. He was imprisoned because of it, and had to pay half a million to the victim's family. He was a good person as testified by his co-workers and family. It was such a sad tale indeed. Up to now, he constantly cries because of his fate. He resigned from his post and i suspect he's currently suffering depression.

There is a saying that no good deed goes unpunished and bad things happen to good people. Sometimes I think there are those of us that are too nice. We tend to set ourselves up to be used by other people. I am guilty of this myself. I am always willing to help others and do whatever I can for them. In the end though, the majority of them end up using me just to get stuff or are never there when I might need something. It is sad, but it is the way our society is.

So sorry to hear that. True. So sometimes we need to try and be tough as well.

Not necessarily tough or mean, but just cautious. We need to protect ourselves and not always give in to other people. We have to learn that it is okay to say No sometimes and to feel good about having some control over our own lives.

They say that when it rains it pours. This saying goes to bad things in life too. Sometimes, when one meets a disaster , another disaster would follow. But when good luck comes, it also comes in succession. But as to his lovers, well , most guys are really attracted on one thing that the gay has : money. But to being loyal to him, it's not the case with them. It is very rare when gays meets a lover who be his lifetime partner.

Right. With regards to his partners, he never had a straight guy. All his partners were gay as well, so i'm pretty sure they were not after his money.

Perhaps the good in the bad way for him to lose his laptop to get a much newer and better one. And all people cheating on him brings the right mate for him. Fate has its peculiar ways to make people meet. It's a priceless quality in him to maintain a positive attitude. I hope he will have all the very best in his life as well as you too.

Normally if a person is affected by ill-luck more and more problems will come to him. It is also said if you get hurt in one leg, again the same leg will be hurt. Losing in public transport is not uncommon. But losing in one's own office that is something to be thought of. It shows his lack of attention.

There was no lack of attention in his part. If you read what i have said to other members above in this discussion, you will know.

Expert abilities require expert challenges. Look at all the people he teaches how to not let adversity get you down. Watch closely. There is a lot to learn.

I think it is the carelessness of the person who lost something, you must make him understand that it is very necessary to be careful with the costly things like laptop. It is difficult sometimes if the things are lost and you can do nothing about it except thinking and having bad feelings about it.

I think you just missed reading one of the responses above. I just told that person that my friend wasn't careless at all. Take a look at it and you would know more.

That is sad, I have always been a victim of snatchers since I got to the city...my friends say it's because I'm just so careless but IDTS!!! I do make sure my bag is closed and secure and I never use my cell phone in the jeepney but still!!! I think it's because your friend might look like a rich person, like I think I project and those hoodlums and scums of the earth study him and then take his things...I hope nothing serious happens to him though like getting hurt when being mugged as I'm eternally grateful I never had experienced and pray would never experience...things can be replaced but our life is the most precious thing in this crazy world!!!

When he lost his laptop, i actually offered him my extra one and he did borrow it. Then at that time his boyfriend and i decided to save up money so he could buy a new one but he refused our money. In two weeks time he was able to buy a better one. So i just told him that it was a blessing in disguise because the one he lost was an old one anyway.
