Most probably we are thinking this is answerable by yes or no only, but how you can say our expression can offend other or not. Let say in our own discussions we have recieved comments then your able to tell something to your responder and he/she response again - you found your point he/she did not get, so your expression comes up like: 1.) OMG (Oh my gosh or God) 2.) Holy blood 3.) Scratch my head 4.) And many more Are you experience such situation here and did you feel something bad or you ignore it. Or you decided not to response again. What do you think? Annoying or bad trip..

I agree with the previous comment. If someone says something I think you should try and respect their opinion and not say anything rude or negative - there's that saying that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it! And if someone did respond with something horrible, then I think it is better to just ignore it and not respond again.

Accepted your point if something bad to say in the respond, but you receive something else like expression sample I've given and many more expressions, can we considered dis-respect the opinion of others, can we consider those expression wrong answer or comments...?

well i have experienced such but sometimes i react and sometimes i dont i depends upon who is on the opposite side. a good friend or someone close can be ignored but someone other should not be spared.

I understand your feeling in that case because I experience also but in my situation just I ignore it and thinking that may be he/she want me to get what point his/her telling which unable me to catch up quickly.. so I have my part also on that.

If we do something inadvertently or without willfully wanting to offend others,i see no harm in such expressions. But if a person does this repeatedly with an intent to lower the standard of discussion or treat a serious issue frivolously, then it becomes irritating or annoying. If the other doesn't get your point, i feel it may be due to a number of reasons. It could be because he hasn't comprehended our discussion or he hasn't sufficient capacity to respond.Depending on our understanding,we should give an apt reply to such a person. Some replies which lack clarity or are repetitive are best left alone.

Let say you have own expression meaning in all the time you can use it because it is always part of your wordings or may be part of your action and speaking. Meaning if we have own expression we become careful how we can use it...

I don't know how to use those expressions because I am not very good on using it. If you ever find any expression I have wrote before it must be written spontaneously. I don't think I have to write those expressions and people misunderstand it because even if I am writing a normal sentence they can get mad of it. I don't know why because I never use such nasty words to them just plain words only. Whenever I found such expressions used by other, no I don't feel anything bad because that is how the way they speak. I don't even say that is rude to them but I got that rude words more from them.hehe..I just smile and continue response or just ignore it.(^^)

I found it amusing~ With the t and y longer I found it kind of hilarious. It depends on the explanations and words after that expression. If that person starting to give bad words, then yes it is rude but if it is just that only like I said before ir sounds funny~ What if I wrote that to you?? What do you feel to such kind of expressions???

Actually I did not encountered such thing only I open such discussion because of posibility and might be happened before here. Ok you did not encountered such expression but how about if you submitted your comments then response back with like this "Whatttttttttttttt", Heyyyyyyyyy are you what?" and others. What do you think about this? Are these right or wrong?

I sometimes get replies that aren't just disagreeing with what I say but sometimes sound hateful but I don't tell them that I think that because I might be just making it out to be hateful when it might not be.Sometimes people have a hard time explaining what they mean. I take all discussion replies as just that because everyone believed differently about different things. It's neat to know how people think about different things. I try not to get offended about anything even if it sounds like they are being hateful because they might not be trying to be. They might be just giving advice that they feel will help. This is a good idea for a discussion that you had. Have a good week!

Thank you my friend, I just to bring to all discussions starter and responders that we are big family here although various culture and tradition and language understanding and open mind should be necessary for good conversation. Some are easy to get and some are little bit hard but we should be patient if we want to give that ideas in a clear and good manner.

In the beginning say three months ago, I use to see Gosh in discussions. I was not able to follow. I just accepted and moved forward. later on HWG explained to me. I forgot sorry. I do not mistake people on this score. We are not meeting in person. We present what we feel is right. that is all.

hi visavis once more just had my response wiped out. try again. since all of us are from different lands we may sometimes use an expression or idion which some will not understand or be offended and as we may' have no clue its up to the other person to ask us just what that we meant as this p ersons did not understand what you meant. Most'of us are willing to explain our expression or idiom .so when it is explained there will be no hard feelings at all. For example I told a fellow mylotter from India I was enjo ying a hot dog. He wrote back, very upset," I thoughtyou nice lady, why are you eating dog meat?" I was stunned then I responded" Oh I assure you I would never eat dog meat.we do not use dogs for meat in the US. they are our pets. No a hot dog is an idion for a heated beef sausage or wiener .I am sorry to have upset you." All it takes is some courtesy and respect for one another to clarify our terms or expressions.I was not annoyed but more amused. We must all have some tolerance with each other here.

It should be like that Hatley but I don't know others character is like a hot oven which ready to explode any moment. Anyway as you said you must have courtesy and respect, understanding if we are consider mylot is a community of professional and big family which known and respect to each other. Thanks to your sharing...

Language barrier can be an issue sometimes because what can be humorous to one is not considered humorous to another. We can politely explain, and put it in a more explainable way where perhaps the other person will understand. The idea is that if the person does not understand, then the one who said something can politely explain. If the person, then understands can come back and explain that they now get it. If one or the other feels it is going to get out of hand, I would suggest to leave it alone. We cannot make everyone happy, though we can respectfully try.

It should be like and should be the attitudes of both starter and responders. You know some of the issues are not solved because of reasoning problem which both are not open minded..

One time i posted at MyLot and try to explained something. Then after posting i realize what i said might have two different meaning to others. So i went back to see my posting, true enough it was taken out. Is what i say here align with your question?

Yeah, because we are deffirent ideas of how you can presenting our own discussion, we are thinking these or that ideas are the possible responders thinking but we did not noticed they have another interpretation which your pushing several expressions and questions - which resulted something else. Open mind is one of the key key for both the starter and responders.

hi, actually it will depend upon the type of person who will shown those expressions, actually i am not like that who offend very fast.it will depend upon the interpretation of the expression of a person to other person,i am not easily get annoy and sometimes for that is just nothing.

Well, my expression is "Oh crap". I don't know exactly what it means because it's just an expression. But I think if we know we are with conservative people we should try to guard ourselves when talking so we don't offend them. At the same time, people should realize not everybody is like them so they must also understand those are just expressions and does not mean bad.

I did not say I'm conservative why I'm brought out this topic but responding politely with better understanding is one indication of being good. Not a person wanted to push something by hook or by crock way, thats not I think good, right or wrong.. we are big family here and understanding each other - if somebody unable to get in one time try several times...

I think we should respect the opinions of others and comply with them. However, everyone has a right of personal choice and opinion. I always respect the opinion of others even though sometimes I disagree with them but I respect the opinion of everyone. Have a nice day!

Yeah agree with you and thanks. but others are very high temper they want to push and enough what they told, they are not thinking respect of others or be a professional and polite to other in terms of treating others.

I think we better ignore it than be bad about it. They are entitled to their own opinion anyways. ^_^

You mean if you encountered such expressions better to ignore, but what the next you will stop discussion or suggest to change the topic..
