I wonder how you do it?
I mean, you get a pet. How do you choose the pet's name?

My kids chose our dogs name. When we first got him, he was about a year old and his name was Koa. He's a Husky and we did not like the name, so the kids wanted it to be Kenai (they got the name from the movie Brother Bear).
Another dog we had came with the name Seth and it seemed to fit him well, so we kept it :)

Oh, a husky 
Despite are not on my top 3 dogs list, I like huskies, I am always amazed by the power they have ..
Leaving the childrens to give names to pets is a good idea - and after all, childrens will probably spend more ime with pets than you

I've had a dog, years a go. It was the only "male" from a group of 7 puppies resulted from a mix between a male german shepherd and a female boxer.
From the forehead-eyes till the tail he was a boxer. Short fur and specific colour plus a big white stain on chest. The mouth was a german shepherd heritage.
I am sorry I have no pics of him, are many years a go I had him, but never forget my "dark black inside the mouth" Nero.
