What is the site Twitter actually about?

I have seen lots of people on Facebook who are also on Twitter. I have heard that it is somewhat similar to Facebook. I have not joined it and I'm not sure if I really want to, although it does have my curiosity up as to what the site is about. How many on MyLot use Twitter also? Just curious. :)

I don't use it as well, but twitter is basically "status" updates. You say what you are doing at that time and people can "hashtag" you and reply. It's not as fun as facebook but many people are actually using twitter as more of a way to make money and get recognized then anything else.

It's really nothing like Facebook. On Twitter you just post short updates or really anything you want to say to whoever is following you. I am on Twitter, but not so people can follow me. I follow other people. I follow a lot of sports fans, some TV stars, news people, it's kind of fun sometimes. But you don't post pictures of vacations or stuff like that. I prefer it to Facebook because I am not active on either one. Yet I'm totally caught up on Twitter because it doesn't really make me "do" anything to catch up. I just go to the site, and read the updates.
