Wearing improper or worn-out shoes places added stress on your hips, knees, ankles and feet-the site of up to 90 percent of all sports injuries. Select shoes suitable for your activity and replace them before they appear worn out.

Hi there Thetis74!
You're right! I think everyone who exercises should know this because it may save them from further long-term injury or difficulties. Thank you very much for sharing that tip. I think that's why I like that Skechers shoes specifically engineered for exercising. I'm sure that there are lots of other shoes similar to its engineering but its designs are stylish too and they don't look like shoes that are exclusively for exercising.

I have also heard of this too! can you please elaborate more on this. Or maybe can you give me a link on article about this? I am interested with this knowledge. How do I know if my shoes are already worn out? I guess my shoes now are worn out already because I am feeling stresses now on my feet everytime I walk. Is there a definitive way to find out?

It is from a book that I have, by John Edward Swartzberg, M.D., F.A.C.P., Sheldon Margen, M.D., and the editors of UC Berkely Wellness Letter. It said that with frequent use, athletic shoes can lose one-third or more of their shock-absorbing ability in a matter of months. Loss of cushioning in the shock-absorbent midsole occurs long before the outer sole or upper shoe shows wear.

That's true. I know choose my high heeled shoes well. I now choose those with a thick pad on the front soles of my feet. They hurt when i walk, if my shoes are already thin in my front soles.
