I just need your opinion on this my dear mylotters, So far I have been using both eyeglasses and contact lenses at the same time and so far the eyeglasses is great because there's no maintenance, I can just put it on and take it off just like that. Whereas the contact lenses, its a challenge to put it on and take it off. but as for cosmetic purposes, it is serving its purpose. So the contact lenses will only last for a month and disposable. so tell me, should I continue with the contact lenses, or you think eyeglasses is better? Thanks!

I am used to wearing contact lenses. The problem with contact lenses is that your cornea is prone to microabrasions. I wear glasses when i am home.

I think contact lenses are made for people who are sportsmen, or work physically and eye glasses could harm them. Of course, it is a personal option, but I think that eye glasses are safer and better for your health than contact lenses. I heard that contact lenses irritate the eyes, so if you have sensible eyes, go for the eye glasses permanently.

permanently yes I will definitely keep my eyeglasses I love it, and will never let go of it, because Im just trying and experimenting with the contact lenses. So far I am getting used to it but its high maintenance and I just need a getting used to and more practice though especially in putting it on and removing it

Do your contact lenses irritate your eyes? Because I noticed that my eyes are not so strong anymore and I may need eye glasses or lenses to improve my vision. And I need to find it from a person who is a user.

Comfort wise I would say glasses just because I've had contacts and still have them...And after a few hours my eyes get pretty dry and blood shot. Of course looks wise and convenience-wise I would have to say contacts are the way to go. I hate that with glasses you can't wear sunglasses in the summer. Swimming is a pain in the butt. And they get dirty!
I think the more you wear contacts though, the more you get used to putting them in and taking them out. I know the first time that I tried to put contacts in, when I first got them, it took like 45 minutes to get them in right so they would stay in. lol.

I am also using both eye glasses and contact lenses. When I was at home, or go out with my friends with quick changes, I would wear my glasses. For some special occasion, or on a special date, I would rather wear my contact lenses. That is what I do mostly. That is depend on the situation I am in.

I use both eye glasses and contact lenses. The thing with contact lenses is that it's more handy, and it makes you easier to move. But what I don't like with contact lenses is that my eyes get tired too easily. It gets irritated sometimes and my eyes turn to red! The eye glasses, on the other hand, is very fashionable (depending on what kind of eye glasses you have), they're easy on the eyes and your eyes won't get tired too quickly. But it's sometimes very uncomfortable to move because the glasses slip off sometimes.

I have been using eyeglasses for 2-3 yrs. and contact lenses for 1 year. But always find the eyeglasses more convenient. But i always bring my contact lenses with me. I also don't use the contact lenses unless I'll be going to a party or somewhere I need to be more presentable.

Of course I prefer to wear the normal optical glasses rather than the contact lenses. Since the normal optical glasses will be safer. If you will wear the contact lenses, make sure you pay attention to every details. Otherwise it is easy to make your eyes infected if your hands are not clean.
I love China

I am wearing the optical glasses since the start.I have never used the contact lenses.Using contact lenses require extra care at every moment. The hands must be very much clean otherwise it will cause some big problems to your eyes. Also while sleeping, you will have to remove the contact lenses from eye and kept properly in the lens lotion. There are still more things to be cared.

Eye glasses are definitely better for the condition of the eye as contact lens will provide a good surface for the microorganism to develop though eye glasses might not make you look as fabulous as wearing contact lens and it is sometime quite inconvenient to wear contact lens, imagine that you have drop them on the street and you cannot pick them up.

Im actually reading on information about contact lenses right now. Im scared on getting eye irritation however as long as I make sure that my hands are clean when rinsing my lenses. And also follow the instructions of my doctor to make sure that everything is according to my prescription.

I would do the same thing that you do--using both alternately. Using glasses, for example, when going to parties and night out isn't fashionable because it wouldn't match you dress. When you are at home glasses can be used. But I don't know if I could put on contact lenses. Some say it gives them a headache. Jusr
t wear as to which one you feel like wearing.

I suppose it depends on the person. I would love to wear contacts instead of glasses since the glasses I wear put large red welts on my nose from being heavy. My eyes are too sensitive unfortunately and I would probably never get used to wearing contacts.

I would use both of them. I prefer the look of contacts over glasses any day.

Hi there Redphile!
I think you should continue having both. I also have both. Whenever I leave the house, I use contact lens. I like its color and it will expire in six months. I also use eyeglasses when I am at home. I like using contact lens because I just put it on and forget about it until evening comes. I don't have to worry about putting it somewhere that it may get broken but when at home, I don't bother taking the effort of putting the contact lens on.

well for now I was advised by my optometrist that since its my first time wearing contact lenses, I should just keep it on for 4 hours and then take it off everyday. And later on when Im used to it then maximum is 8 hours especially since I am always in front of the computer. So let's see, its been like a week so far, so Im gonna experiment on keeping both for now!

Hi redphile.
I am maintaining both, contact lenses and eyeglasses. I cannot just dispose or get rid off my contact lenses because it is serving its purpose, for me not to look too old. I wear eyeglasses when I am in a rush. But I am used to wearing contact lenses because the eyeglasses usually bothers me when it gets smoky or when I have it banged on a post or something when I turn.
But if you are not still used to contact lenses and you don't have a necessity for it, then do what you feel like doing.
Thanks.

As i think eye glasses is much better then contact lenses. Bcoz glasses doesn.t have any bad impact on eyes but contact lenses has some sideffect on eyes.

I'm getting used to contacts will try it for one month only, and Ill see whats gonna happen after that. I have read online that there's like eye irritation that may cause by wearing contact lenses, but so long that I used the right pair and not just some cheap lenses. And also make sure to follow what the doctor says, like the maximum time to wear is like 8 hours and make sure to like lubricate it when its getting dry.

I use both eyeglasses and contact lenses. But, I only use the eyeglasses at home to watch TV when I am on my bed. I guess I only used once eyeglasses outside my home, I really don't like the way I look when I'm using them. In my opinion, everyone stays worse with eyeglasses. But, I have to agree that is a lot easier to use.
I really don't have problems with my contact lenses, but when I started using, it was always a tough task to put the lenses in the morning. But, I changed my lenses to a Johnsons & Johnsons (Advance) and now is very easy to put them.

it is definitely a tough task putting it on and even removing it after! I agree with you on that! LOL Right now I still use both, Since Im new in using contact lenses maximum is 8 hours of use only ( i think that goes for all users of contact lenses) and I have to remove it like every 5 hours, clean it and use my glasses again. so far its a little uncomfortable but Ill try to get used t it.

It really depends on how the glasses look on you, the right glasses can actually make some people look more attractive and smarter. I prefer to wear contact lenses myself, but i will admit they can be a bit of a hassle but you get used to them quickly. It might be better to use contacts when you are looking to impress people, but if you are just running some errands or around the house wearing glasses would be better.
If you will use you contacts and glasses about the same then i would suggest looking into dailies, you could save money and not have to worry about when to change your lenses, you just use a fresh set every day.

Yeah I also thought of getting a cool and trendy glasses that will fit my personality, or a more formal one when I go to the office. But its kinda expensive actually to get the best pair of eyeglasses.
As for the contact lenses, Im getting used to it so far, I ve heard of the dailies too, fresh one everyday but I think its kinda expensive. So far Im gonna try this for a month and lets see whats gonna happen.
