I just finished reading the book "My Life Against the Ropes" by Linda(Bollera)Hogan. It is very well written and a great insight to what life was like for her as the wife of WWE Superstar Terry (Hulk) (Bollera) Hogan. She truly loved the life and loved him when they were first married, but it seems that they grew too far apart due to many lies and much cheating in the marriage. I think it gives a great insight to the life of these people and the people they love. Have any of you read this and if so, what did you think about the book?

hi carolcash. haven't read the book but i bet it'll be an interesting read like what you said. usually, it is the wrestler who writes the book but this one is uncommon because it is the wife of hulk hogan that wrote the book. i bet it is an insightful read since it was linda hogan who had seen up close how hulk hogan become the popular icon that he is right now. i've read two books written by wwe stars. the first one was by bret 'the hitman' hart. he had very choice words for vince mcmahon, triple, and shawn michaels. he devoted a good part of the book, a chapter or two, on the montreal screwjob. over-all, i think it is a very honest book and an interesting read. the other i read was by ric flair. another good read and very entertaining. i still have mick foley's book 'have a nice day'. haven't started reading that yet. anyway, i like these types of books since it offers a different perspective from the wrestlers themselves. usually, these perspectives are very different from the glamor we see on tv. cheers!!!

Linda's book does give us a very insightful look into how their lives changed by the career that he had. He was already involved in the business when they met,but his star career changed the way that they worked and having children changed their lives as well. I love Bret the hitman Hart! He was such a good wrestler and yet he was so mislead by McMahon. I believe that Vince is all about the money and doesn't really care how many lives that he destroys in the process. I think that some of the best people have been destroyed by their wrestling careers. I would like to read this book as well. I am a Shaun Michael's fan too, but I think that he has ruined some friendships by the antics that he has had on the show. I know that the show is made to look like a soap opera, but you should still have some morals. I bet the book by Mick Foley is a great one too. I might have to try to read it too.

shawn michaels' is another book that i would love to read. he has had some issues with some of the other guys in the locker room but i do think he is a good guy over-all. i'm a big fan so maybe i'm biased. lol! the jury is still out on the mick foley book. anyway, i'll update this thread once i've finished reading that one. cheers!!!

Personally I think this just goes to show how in reality even people that become a famous couple like this may have major issues in their life and marriage, and usually are not Happy and one ends up seeking out for something else. Many times they are even almost forced to find something more. I have not read this book yet, but it would be one I would probably be interested in as I have followed a lot of this story and it has been interesting.

That is the real story of these relationships. I believe that they did truly love each other in the beginning but he began to need more while out on the road but she was home with their children being the "perfect" mom and so the relationship continued to be worse for both of them. I think you should read it!

I would be interested in reading this book. I could see how it would be difficult being married to a wresting superstar. I think I will look it up at amazon. Thanks for the review.

Shelly, If you don't want to buy it, then try finding it at your local library. That is where I found my copy at. It is an interesting story and it does show how life can be complicated when a star is involved.

I haven't read it but it sounds interesting. I remember watching wrestling when I was little because my grandfather was a huge fan. It does make you wonder what their "real lives" were like. Fame and fortune really does have a way of changing people.
