Poor Michelle. She has been trying to get All of us to eat right and exercise and then what happens? she is caught eating a burger and fries at the shake Shack! The Horror. Doesn't she know once you sound like a Food Nazi you can not get caught eating a burger in public! the message gets twisted. Now it seems that she is saying eat what I tell you to eat while I'm thin enough to eat whatever I want! I know that isn't what she meant but now it Seems that way. Poor Michelle! You can see she is a rookie Food Nazi! This is the type of story that makes me glad I have ignored All the Food Nazis and eat what I want. Do you think this will become a huge scandal? Or are more people like me , just ignoring all of them and eating what I want?

Makatas. She is the closest we get to royalty.Plus Once you start sounding like a Food Nazi, you have to eat healthy in public the rest of your days or you look like a hypocrite!

Shame! I feel bad for Michelle - its just about impossible to ONLY eat good food the whole time, maybe she just wanted a break and was CRAVING a hamburger, you know how that sometimes feels.. Although I think healthy eating is important, I also think its good to not be TOO strict about what you eat. You shouldn't have McDonalds 3 times a day, sure, but treating yourself to something yummy every now and again isn't gonna hurt!

I never try to eat healthy food. I just ignore the " what is good for you" speeches. I just think Michelle may be in trouble with the Strict healthy eaters.

Syrup is too sweet for me. Hatley , this fact is why when I ever think about Diabetes , I think it Would kill me. When I was a teen I welcomed it , now I guess I would live , but I just wouldn't eat. What the food Nazis say is healthy , I wouldn't eat.

Right on. I eat burgers all the time, but I don't preach against them. I don't care what the message is, one can not preach one thing, and practice the opposite.

Dumb. But I guess that's what happens when you're in the spotlight. It's not like she eats burgers 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. It's like anything else in moderation, no big deal...

To me it is no big deal but to others who are looking for something to pick on.. this is minor but it is something!

I didn't hear of this until now! Talk about being embarressed! You can tell Michelle Obama is new to the game! If a person is eating well and wants to treat themselves once in awhile,I see nothing wrong with that! If you eat well all the time,it gets pretty darn boring! Also if a person wants to eat what they want to eat and not listen to the Food Nazi's that is ok,too! It is up to the person and this might cause Michelle Obama some headaches! I think she'll work through it.

That's the point Hatley, she is intelligent but some of the people who look to the Food Nazis to tell them What to eat Are not intelligent enough to truly understand that one can have the occasional burger.

I think most people will just eat whatever they want and enjoy. I don't care if someone likes what I eat if I like it I will eat it. This is why people shouldn't be hypocrites though like her...They end up looking dumb! Just saying.

sarahruthbeth I feel sorry for any Presidents wife as we all gang up omn them if they espouse good health then dare to do what all the rest of us do and we also should know better. Oh horrors I am a diabetic and I too have been to Burger King and ate a hamburger and fries too.but not all the time just occasionally but because i am not famous nobody is going to throw brickbats at me like they will Michelle. give the woman a break. a lot of us are health nuts but truthfully my diabetes educator says if you are good 90 percent of the time ten percent you can eat something you really crave and it will not injure us but will cheer us along the path to eating healthy., everything in proportion we who have diabetes can eat a lot of things those who are not educated in our disease think we cannot. So anytime a diabetes policeman says to me Are you going to eat that you have diabetes? I am going to say yes I am so go study more about mty disease Mr or Mrs Diabetes policeman.

I think there are more "Food Nazis" than we know that do not eat what they preach..lol. As far as the scandal..I'm thinking there probably won't be much of one BUT I do think it will be the first thing that comes to mind when and if she promotes certain eating habits publicly. That's just the way things are.

Well I guess she deserves a burger or two. Besides, it's her life so if she wants a burger, she can have one and we should just care about our own lives.

If she has her own life and we have ours , then she can Now stop trying to get us to change. The ones who want to eat healthy are Already doing in , and the rest of us can Now politely ignore her!

I think that this country is in worse shape then we all think it is. Lets face the facts, the right does not like Obama because he is black. Bottom line. Both parties have to get off this right and left stuff. It gets me real mad when I hear garbage like this. What difference does it make if she had a burger and fries. If you look deeper in the food situation, all the food we eat is pumped up with steroids. So, it's not just fast food. I keep thinking about Canada. It is starting to look real good.

Wow! This is the first time I didn't think about race. I Knew this would be a problem for her because of her Own stance on healthy food! Let's face it, this faux pas could have happened even if she were green with purple spots.

Maybe she ate a burger that has healthy "extenders," so it should be alright. Food Nazi? That's the first time I have heard this phrase.

Do you like it? It is my own expression. A Food Nazi is anyone who tells Everybody what they should and shouldn't eat. They are the ones that said eggs were bad , then good , then bad then back to good again! They try to dictate what you will eat like Nazis.

Well , I was born a picky eater. I just wouldn't eat. I worried my mom. I was the complete opposite of my sister who would eat Everything. She took me to the doctor and he said I was healthy , what I Did eat was enough. So growing up I wasn't forced to eat vegetables . But we didn't do the fast food thing Too often. I had dessert. So to me I always say if they say I can't eat this and should eat that and this will kill me... I Say If I can't eat what I like , I just won't eat. I especially say that to Vegetarians.

Hahahah... By this definition I guess I could call my parents Food Nazis then because they would make me it food that was not luxurious, was cheap and even home grown. Food Nazis... hahahah... They would not like the phrase. Nor do I feel like calling them that because they made me it what was good for me. It is a good thing they did that because I did not know any better. My preference when young would have been candies, sweets and soft drinks.

Michelle Obama has a right to eat a burger, she is a human being, so what shes eating a burger there is no need to blog about it, at the end of the day she can eat!!

Yes she cAn eat what she wants , the problem? For years she is urging Everyone to eat right! She was trying to be a Food Nazi and having a burger in public goes against what she was , and I say Was, trying to get people to do. now many will just ignore her. It is sad because she is in shape and can eat whatever she wants but now the message will be twisted.

I don't think Michell is a "food nazi". I think she's trying to help remedy the huge obesity problem with have in our country among young children who shouldn't have that problem at all! Every time I have seen her speak out about nutrition, she has made sure to emphasize the fact that it's okay to have food that's bad for you...in moderation. Eating healthy and having a good work out plan in place will help you to become and stay at a healthy and normal weight for you, whether or not you allow yourself to indulge in bad for you food every one in a while. The media is being ridiculous with this story, and anybody who fails to see the lack of logic in persecuting her for eating one hamburger and french fries either has never bothered her actually hear her speak on behalf of her cause, or are too dumb to comprehend what she's trying to say. I think Michelle Obama is a normal sized woman who happens to eat well most of the time and have a good work out regimen. Everybody is allowed to treat themselves to a fattening meal or dessert every once in a while. I honestly don't see the harm in that, or how she's a "hypocrite".

But she is doing what she tries to teach others to do. The family has a vegetable garden at the White House, which they eat very often from. She's been open with the fact that working out is a big part of why she's so healthy. Like I said before, she's never advocated that people shouldn't be able to enjoy treats in moderation. She's not trying to judge others for what they eat, she's merely trying to educate people. The same with most who I would venture to say you would call "food nazis". I don't understand what is so wrong with trying to educate people. Many people in the US are woefully ignorant about what food actually does to their body. Shouldn't they be educated? At the end of the day what everybody eats is their own choice, but wouldn't you rather be educated then be ignorant? I know I would rather be educated. Also, I highly disagree that the press is doing their job. They should be focused on things that actually effect this country, not what the First Lady chose to eat on a random day.

So, even food nazis have that once-in-a-while craving for a burger too! I shouldn't be commenting here, as I also ignore food nazis, and I enjoy a burger once in a while (sometimes too many times than I am supposed to), but I'm glad to realize that she is human too. I guess it's hard to be in the public spotlight, as everything one does, gets analyzed.

That is not good to tell others to do something but then not following it. There is a old saying that if you want the change then first be the change. But here I see the opposite, anyway if it is for one's good health then we should not see that if she eats it or not, wise people will take their own decision for that. If you want a good health then you will have the good eating habits.
