hello, fellow myLotters have you tried using the Facebook Video Chat? It was launched last July 6, 2011 and is gaining popularity compared to Google's +1 feature (have you tried this one, too?). There seems to be a brewing competition between Facebook and Google, right? What do you think? Going back, with the integration of video chatting, we are now able to see our chat mates. Would you love this new application? Personally, I don't. I tried it once and it slowed down my PC. Also I have read several articles saying that Facebook is no longer one of the best social networking sites, that it only gained too much popularity because of the hype and now the hype is "over" And video chatting? That doesn't sound new at all to me.This feature doesn't even work on mobile phones! And if you are doing a video-call you are stuck on that screen, you can no longer check other sites, post articles, comments, place some likes, play some games because all you do is stare at the monitor and talk. Multitasking is gone.

I haven't tried it yet, but I am wondering what happened to the "regular" chat feature? It has disappeared from my facebook homepage! Is that because of this new feature? I am assuming it is similar to skype?

I have never try it as yet,its the first am hearing about a video chat.My computer is small so i would not use it,Facebook is very popular with are without these features. Facebook will get boring soon,if it's not boring to some already.I don't think the video chat is necessary, because people have those on their messenger already. But what Facebook is trying to do is to have everything in one place, which will not work.

Hi Katzar! I haven't tried using the Facebook Video Chat. I'm also not into chatting since I seldom open my Facebook. I also don't have a video cam that I can use so that's the main reason why I can't use it.
