Wisconsin Schools are coming up with Balanced Budgets or Surpluses.

Almost all Wisconsin School Districts are coming up with either balanced budgets, or surpluses for the first time in decades... even with state aid cuts. Gov. Walker's budget plan has been vindicated and proving successful already.
The Appleton School System would have had a surplus, but they chose to use the money for raises for the teachers and administration.
How did that happen? lol

The only exception is Milwaukee Public School District, the only one that rushed through contracts with no concessions whatsoever.
Still, there are mindless union minions who are out to recall the very people who turned Wisconsin from the fates being faced by neighbors Minnesota and Illinois. I guess success is a dirty word to some people.

That's ridiculous Ted. You know as well as I do that the world is ending because of that legislation. Teachers are losing their jobs, and those that are keeping their jobs are being treated like slaves now because without all their union powers labor laws have ceased to exist.
Next thing you know you'll be trying to convince me that the Kaukauna Area School District went from a $400,000 deficit to a $1.5 million surplus and will be hiring new teachers and reducing class sizes thus creating jobs while improving the learning environment for children. We really need to get rid of those jerks that passed this legislation. They screwed those teachers who are now being hired and the kids who can enjoy smaller class sizes and more individual attention from teachers.

Yeah. The sky fell, didn't it?
Union thugs didn't like that we passed a similar law in Ohio. In fact, they supposedly got enough signatures to get it on the ballot for voters. And, of course, they've been lying all about how it will cause the sky to fall here.

That's a lot of pay reduction in an already low paying field. Might be great now but as soon as the job market gets better they're going to have a serious teacher shortage. Oklahoma has had that problem for years due to having lower than average pay compared to surrounding states. There were some great teachers there, I also had a college math teacher who couldn't use a calculator. If you want competent people you have to pay competitively or someone else will and you'll be left with what's left.

They average over $46,000 a year. That's more than teachers in most states average and it's more than I'm currently making despite having a job with higher qualifications than a public school teacher.
"If you want competent people you have to pay competitively"
Generally speaking, yes. In this economy however, you have a lot of people who need jobs and are willing to work for less than they're worth. As the economy improves, tax revenues will increase and teachers can get paid more.
Besides, if you noticed the original post you'd see some districts are spending that surplus by giving raises to teachers. I just cited one that was hiring more teachers. Which bugs you more, that this legislation is creating jobs, or increasing teacher pay?

Hate has no reason...It feeds itself from itself. They will get him and all the other conservatives that they can. I get a Democratic letter in my email almost everyday. This group is raising money fast and furious...Their goal? to kick as many conservatives out of office as possible before 2012 and they are working in Wisconsin first.

And they'll say it's for the kids, right?
We saw what scum most of the union thugs were in Wisconsin. They can no longer call themselves "professionals" after behaving like they did.

Children who are given everything they could ever whine for never learn how to earn their own money, or how to save it for something truly important. Parents who act like ABMs cause their children to waste money on ever little unnecessary thing. When you cut off the cash flow, children start to use human ingenuity to come up with their own cash.
Guess this doesn't just apply to teenagers!
