I first read about Lyme disease when I was about 8--there was something about it in the first-aid book I liked reading. The book was really good, but I've been scared of ticks ever since. I've never had it before, though. It must be awful--I hope your family is okay!

It's pretty bad. The only way for my mother to be pain free and get around very well is when she has anitbiotics. Now even her regular Dr. gives them to her too and just says she has an infection. She does but due to the horrible stigma related to this disease all drs have to be carefull here in Texas for sure. Now she was on an pic line and given rocefin and heprin, and doxycycline. She was feeling great! The tests were coming back normal for a change and her swellng went away and the most amazing thing happened for her to. Her migrains she had since she was 17 was gone. Due to the antibiotics. She had to go to a Dr out of state and get it all aproved and it was a pain and cost some money (about 5 k all together due to the kids having it too a well as I) it just baffles me that even when you show them that you have it via their (the almighty people...insurance...) testing that is soooooo out dated and not sensitive enough to acualy pick it up...gaa I could go on. thank you for responding.
