i am a game master in an online game.
do you know how cool my work is?
common mistakes of a gamer is, they used to blame game master about the lags and bugs they are experiencing in the game but little did they know, fixing those kind of problem is not part of our job, it the job our the developer not the game masters.
game masters are there to implement games.
game masters are there to hear your complaints and do some follow ups about the players' report.
that's what game masters can do.
i hope some online gamers here can actually feel what game masters can feel everytime they got blamed on other peoples' shortcomings.

I definitely feel your pain mate. There are a lot of times that people blame us for things that are beyond our control. The best thing that we can do is point them to the proper channel where the problem can be resolved. But honestly, I like your job! :)

I seriously considered doing this but figured I'd end up hating the game.
I used to do voluntary customer support on EverQuest (as a Guide, sort of a sub-GM), which was kinda fun, especially with all the special gear you got for in-game support. I'm also partly to blame for WoW's european customer service model, but that's another story entirely!
Unfortunately, I moved away from Paris about a month before the WoW-EU support centre opened there. I probably would've applied.
