Whenever I come home, I always see to it that I have something to be given to my kids. It may be a pair of donuts or a sort of snacks that they can eat while watching TV. I always do this as a sort of award since they are doing their best at school. On the other hand, I am also thinking if I will gonna do this for long since the prices of commodities now a days are getting higher. Hence, my budget is somehow getting tight. And now, I am starting to reduce buying extra foods for my kids as there are times, my daily budget is not really enough.

Could you make plain cookies or muffins? They're a lot cheaper to make at home if you don't put a lot of extra stuff in them like nuts and chocolate chips. Also, a bag of carrots is pretty cheap and will last awhile. Your kids may not think they're a treat, though. Maybe some inexpensive fruit? You can buy a pound of grapes here for around $3 and that would last at least two days for two kids, I'd think.

Home cooking is a great thing to do and can be done by getting the family involved. It is also goods for geeting ingredients together again or modifying recepies accordingly. Going to cetain supermarkets over thers also makes a huge differece. Morrisons for example is significantly cheaper than Sainsbury's on most thingsa except when they have their reduced prices at the end of he day.

hi, there are many reason why we need to tight our daily budget, and for me i have to reason why, because its really hard to make money everyday so that i have to save it and the other one is all things getting more expensive now a days so hard for me to but things not so needed.

I can certainly understand how you feel. Things are getting more expensive, which seems to make everyone have to live on a tighter budget. I'm sure that things are getting difficult for a lot of people, myself included. It's not easy. All we can do is do the best that we can, and hope that things change for the better.

Ever since my husband was diagnosed with Type II diabetes I have stopped buying a lot of junk food. I do buy those small snack pack candy bars when they go on sale (usually for a dollar) and occssionally I will buy pretzels or chips if they are a great price. I am trying to lose weight so I can have children. I want to have healthy children and I feel that in order for my kids to be healthy I have to be healthy. Money is tight for everyone right now and it can be hard to find places to cut the budget. I would also make treats at home such as cookies.

Yes it is getting tougher for many today as the cost of living is rising and salaries are not exactly increasing. I would say perhaps once a week to buy a box of some nice favorites. Then sparingly share them daily so you do not bare the extra expense of buying them singling. Or you can explain to the children on how difficult it is getting recently and maybe one day perhaps all as a family create some cookies and or muffins they all an participate and feel the joy of their own creation.

It is really okay. I'm sure your children will understand. On the other hand these are junkfoods anyway and it's not a good idea, as I have learned, to get them used to eating while watching tv because it might become a habit. I am sure you have shown them enough love by providing them your good care. Just do it occasionally and spend the rest of the money on nutritious meals. There are a lot of other ways anyway that I am certain you have already given to make them feel so loved.

Unfortunately this applies to everyone in some ways as in Britain we are now paying 20% in taxes. I understand it must be difficult to make endes meet when you also have chidren. At least food essentials do not VAT or where would be as everything else does.
