praying in good and bad times

Hi SIMPLYD! What I've actually noticed is that people pray most especially during bad times or unwanted situations. I think this could be one reason why there are people who are into trouble most of the time. God might be constantly reminding them to call to Him and those problems might actually act as a reminder that we need Him. I agree with you that even in good times we must continue on praying. If we are in a good situation then we must be continually thankful of Him. Praying in good times I think is an act of gratitude. People tend to forget God after they receive what they wanted to get which actually is very disrespectful. Most of the time people see or think or treat God like an ATM machine where they run to if they run of money. There are many reasons why we should pray always. We must be always thankful to Him because the air that we breath everyday comes from Him and thus we are alive. And as long as we are alive we have the chance, the opportunity, the hope to make a bad situation into something good. God bless you everyone.

It is nice to hear that you are a ardent devotee and you do not miss your prayers. I thin the great God will take care of your devotion. I also pray to God in my bad and good times and thank Him for every moment granted to me.

I try to pray as often as I can and I am also trying to teach my children the sam, but I will be the first to admit that I am at fault when it comes to praying mainly when there are times of needs, in which you feel helpless and your last option is to turn to prayer. I know I shouldn't but I sometimes find myself doing it.

I can say i pray during bad times because this is only what i have all life.From the time I turned 14 i am facing only troubled times only.Thus i pray only at troubled times. I am just waiting for good times and when they arrive i will definately pray because i will not want these troubled times to return again. Earlier i used to pray during good times too but then i was just a kid and kids always pray from heart. Right now i am praying for good times to come upon me.

Yes, of course without talking to God we are far from Him we do not know anything from Him, we will loose our connection,they say Prayer is the best motivation in life that's true, talking with God is the best thing that we should do, for in Him all questions are answered either by yes, no or later. Sometimes when i forgot to pray before going to bed i'll have nightmares.

That's right.. a lot of people only call onto God in times of desperation, in times of trouble when it seems like the only solution is God. That's so sad.. The missed a lot. For me, a person who knows God would be more desperate and hungry for Him, calls upon His name and seeks His face continuously, and not just in times of trouble.. I cant really say that I have a consistent and so planned prayer time but I pray and talk to God anywhere and anytime. Even when I am driving my car. I am just amazed by God who loves me and draws me to Him to pray..

I'm really not that religious but I do have faith and recognizes that God has a hand in everything that happens to us, good and bad. So, I thanks him for all the blessings and for all the lessons learned and I ask for his guidance and protection for my family and friends. That we may all overcome our difficulties and understand his lessons and plan for us in his own time.

Friend I left everything on God because my life is fill with full of struggle so I always pray or said to God everything is depend upon you if you wants to make struggle again and again in my life then give me no problems if you wants to do less then help me. I tell everything to God bad or good thing and everytime pray at good or bad time. Generally people not remember God when they are well but I always remember God because I know without them nothing is possible.

I found that God always saw me through my bad times. It's easy to pray when we are troubled but there seems to be know time to thank and praise God because we are only thinking of ourselves. God wants us to bring our problems to Him but we must also do as you said and pray to praise him all the time. I too pray everyday just to thank him for all that He has blessed me with.

I prayed wherever i am, anytime and any circumstances. I believe PRAYER is the most powerful thing to do that God listen to us to help what ever problems, trials or challenges that we have. I always asked for strenght everytime i feel weak and worthless. I asked for wisdom and knowledge everytime i need to decide which part are more better to do, I asked for healing and good health everytime i feel sick. I asked for comfort everytime i feel lonely, rejected and alone. I asked for blessings to become a blessings to others. I asked for devine protection for me and my love ones. I asked for salvation to my relatives, friends and aquitances that i have. I asked for MORE thirst on his WORD and Presense. I asked for forgiveness for what ever mistakes and sins that i have done. I asked and Prayed to God because I believe and know that He is the only one who had the power and glory to DO SOMETHING GREAT in my life! May God Bless us.

Yes. Like you, i do pray not only in bad times but also in good times because we have so much blessings in our lives that we need to thank Him. Everything in this world is a blessing. I do believe in sayings "everythings happen for a reason" and whatever reason it is in the end of the day we will realize that GOD has a purpose for that reason. As you said, God's heart breaks when our motivation to pray subsides. I agree, because GOD loves us so much, when we ignored HIM we hurt Him. For sure right now He's happy because we lift up His name through this conversation. Do you believe in that? :)
