How far it is true because many of youngsters give preference to their friends than parents..

For most young people, this thing is true. Sometimes they would rather seek the advise of the people their age because they feel that these people understand them more. However, this kind of thing isn't always right. Parents knows what's best because they already have gone through these kinds of things that the young people faces. Both of the parties need only to be open to one another to understand each other.

I agree with your comment leahjane0122, especially in regards to understanding one another.. however I remember it was always easier to speak to my friends, purely because my parents had the attitude that 'If you do this, this will happen, and now that you know the dangers (or whatever) dont do it'..and of course as kids/teenagers, were going to do it! My Mum was way too judgmental when I was growing up and the thought of disappointing her in any way- was a MASSIVE pressure, I know my Mum would have been the best to talk to..its just she made it so hard to approach her! Even now..and Im 23- still not able to ever open up to her..
