hardly chiyosan I am trying to eat healthy so I can control my blood sugar and not again fly into a coma and possibly die this time. I do
not give a flying damn about fads at all. As a diabetic I have to eat right or die, thats the plain simple truth a lot of us people who are trying to eat healthy and be healthy are not doing it because its the in thing but because we have common sense and want to live long and healthy lives.I do not care about any healthy bandwagon, I care about feeling good and controlling my diabetes and living as long as possible.these are normal for most diabetics. So it could be you are just not seeing us clearly or judging wrong.do not judge as you seldom are right about people you have never met.

This is quite true especially with the old ones. My parents are now into the healthy bandwagon and they always persuade us to live healthy. Also, my older siblings are now diet and weight conscious now. I really don't have any choice as what they cook is also what I eat. What they eat is what I should make do with. So I am indirectly affected by the healthy buff bandwagon because people around me are. But I see nothing wrong with what they are doing so I just go with the flow also.

I think you just have misunderstood it. It's the "in" thing, but it's not because of that that everybody wants to join.
I myself and my husband has been in the "healthy bandwagon", because we want to live longer. We want to be still here when our daughter will finally be a doctor and have a family of her own.
Nowadays, people are dying young because of unhealthy lifestyle. So, better shape up and join , rather than, die young.

The access to the internet and the information and researches that can be found there has really contributed much to the "healthy bandwagon." Actually, it is not merely a bandwagon, but a genuine movement because people are more knowledgeable, consistent, persistent, and increasing. If you have noticed, it's the more educated who are engaged in this.
On the other hand, you may also have noticed that producers are paying attention. The producers are climbing over one another to produce products that are organic, healthy, natural, chemical-free, etc. The consumer segment that has shifted to a lifestyle of health and sustainability is quite big and has brought the producers around to satisfy demand.
In the Philippines, the change is really noticeable since we first organized the first organic market in Asia in 1994/5 in Greenbelt, Makati, Metro Manila.
