How lon to wait for best answer?

How long do you wait to pick the best answer. It seems to me a week would be enough would it not? I also like to give plus signs whenever I can and go back to my discussions to do so. Does this help with our money and ratings and if it helps the ratings (our stars) does that mean we make more? Many questions that I can not seem to find in the mylot info page. You guys tell me what you think.

always give the benefit of any response.
but sometimes not choose the best answer.
constantly thinking that all deserve to give them at best answer because everyone has written something experienced and proven real thing.
So sometimes I leave them as my discussion.
I respect all opinions.

I don't think a week is enough, I would wait around a month... people usually have a double life and maybe they only do mylot in the weekend, and if they have lots of things to answer/read then they can't aford everything and they keep longer to mark best response. Sometimes I forget to mark it, then i have to take a day to review my discussions and mark them...
