Harold Camping is an 89 years old broadcaster turn preacher from Los Angeles California. He predicted the world will end on May 21, 2011.In his prophecy he said that on doomsday 200 righteous people will be rapture into the sky, leaving the rest suffering and experiencing the blows off plagues and five months of fire. The magnitude of his prediction was shocking. Many advertiser propagate and spend huge amount of money for public campaign believing that rapture will take place. but fortunately it didn't. Sadly,It created a mass hysteria and many of his follower were affected and become penniless while some were reported to attempt suicide. After that day the radio station of Camping was bombarded by several people who are annoyed and disappointed with his predictions. That is not the first time that he make a bold attempt to predict the end of the world. He did it back then on May 21, 1988 and September 7, 1994 but it didn't materialize as well. Although Harold Camping is suffering from stroke where he can barely move and speak now. He still manages to move the date of his prediction. He said it will take place on October 21, 2011 still trying to scare the crap out of everyone. It is obvious he is a false prophet and we shouldn't believe in his useless predictions. The end of the world will not take place on October 21, 2011 and that is clear.

As much as I'm surprised what ol' Harold is thinking, but I'm also surprised that people actually believe him. Remember all those people who went to abandon their jobs for him? It's just something to think about.

Of course those were his members, he is capable of making them believe that the world is going to end soon. The followers were thinking that the end result would be rewarding.

I still can't believe they believed him. It's amazing what sort of other great things he could have done with persuasion like that.

I don't believe that the world will end. I think its a nonsense and it will never happen. October is still far but if he miss his predictions before I don't think he'll make it this time :)

I can only think of 2 theories as to why Camping is doing this in spite of health complications...either he just wants a lot of money (like most preachers I see on television nowadays), OR he genuinely suffers from a mental illness that's not being treated professionally. Either way, what he's doing is totally wrong, and if he is sane, he should compensate the people who contributed their life savings to his doomsday prediction.

Yeah I have thought about it too, Camping must be insane or he really wants a lotta money. Many people were glued to the radio listening to his stupid predictions wherein he could also garnered a lot of money out of it. He might not be mentally ill b/c he is to clever to used his position to deceived his followers :(
