Honestly I think he made the band famouse. Without him the temptations would be a small time local band that plays in clubs and maybe get on the radio sometimes. I'm not saying they would be some unknown band that gets lost in the waves of time (though without Eddie they probably would)The other members were great don't get me wrong. But nearly all their billboard hits casme from songs by DAvid Ruffin. Especially "My Girl" he has such a captivating and amazing voice. Without him there would still be The Temptations but they wouldn't be nearly as good as they are without David. To bad he had to be a egotistical coke addict. Young Ruffin was waaaay better than old Ruffin.
