A couple of decades back everything was running on letter writing, but because of the fast generation no one has time to write letters amidst the hectic schedule of many works.
Nothing beats a letter which travels long and far to reach us.....
Please share your inspirational thoughts....7 responses

I am not a letter writing expert but I appreciate letters more than any kind of medium. It is more long-lasting and in a sense, more sentimental.
Unlike the modern application of letter today, everything seems to be too easy to get deleted. The email might be handy and fast but it also easier to delete or to put into the trash in impulse. Letters, on the other hand, would have taken many papers and ink just to to get to the right words, the right feeling and the right message to convey.
I don't have anything about the email but for some nostalgic reason and for the old self within me, I still prefer letter. Things that I can touch and read without turning on my computer. Something to reflect about in the lazy days. That for me is what counts.

What you told about the importance of hand written letter - I just like it. It carries the real love towards the sender as much time is spent with rolling thoughts in the mind of the writer...isn't it.
I appreciate your good and positive thoughts and also very glad to note that still there are some people in this beautiful world who keep themselves busy with their old habits of writing letters keeping aside the modern technology.
That is GREAT/////////..........[/b]

I remember the good old days of letter writing which also resulted in penpal or penfriend in which persons write to a friend in a distance location to exchange ideas,
But with the advent of computer and cellphone, this culuture is fast dying and I do not think it will ever resurrect. Mobile Technologies such as IPad, Ipod, blackberries, smartphone of all kind have take the stage and everyone seems to be interested in all this technologies.
I think the secondary school and colleges still teaches letter writing but it is something that will not be use by this present generation everyone seem to be interested in sending text messages rather than waste their bloody time writing long letters. In a nutshell the letter writing culuture is becoming extinct.

Once upon a time i was a very good and proficient writer of letters because that was the only means of communication. Now after the advent of computers and the internet this habit has come to a complete halt as email has taken over.I have also observed that when once my mailbox at home would be flooded at home with letters ,now one sees the postman ver rarely except when receiving telephone and electricity bills.Emailing is very practical and superfast whereas hand written letters take days to be received due to postal delays. And now with the sms facility in mobile phones even short and urgent messages can be sent and received instantly. No wonder people have given up letter writing, a sad development in this modern fast paced era.

I agree that not many people write letters these days. I remember when I was a child, we used to go on holiday in a caravan and I would play with children from other families from the camping site. We would exchange addresses and write to each other when we got home. I was in contact with one of the girls from caravanning for almost a year after we went home from the holiday. Now, all that people can do is exchange details for social networking websites which, in my opinion, just isn't the same at all, which is a shame.

A hand written letter is a precious gift. When I was younger I had penpals worldwide to whom I wrote monthly during many years. Now a days I rarely write hand written letters to friends. When it is Holiday seasons I send cards and greetings in the postal mail. I value it as a special gift in comparison to all written e-mails.

Believe it or not, I actually remember those days and sometimes miss them! Every time I watch "You've Got Mail." I smile while the three Foxs are remembering the days when communication was primarily mail.
