my brain won't just work sometimes, are you like this?

i am a working mom, assigned in accounting section of our department. we have a meeting yesterday with our chief, and she gave me a task to take the minutes of the meeting. i did well on that, but now when i am about to finalize it, my brain won't just work. i am having a hard time constructing sentences and finding appropriate term for each word. making minutes of the meeting is not that difficult to do, but i am having a hard time right now. what do you usually do when you experience it?please share some ideas. thanks and happy mylotting!

I am also accustomed to suffering from these pangs of nervousness. However, when the D-day comes near, I try to get proper sleep, and try to relax as much as I can by watching a movie, or reading a book, or just by eating or breathing deeply. I make sure there is nothing that spoils my mood prior to the meeting. I tell myself that I have prepared well enough now, and that gives me confidence. And pretty soon, it's all over perfectly. thank you for sharing your idea offengehirn. me too, i usually prepare for the big day. i would even take vitamins to ensure that i will be healthy. i try to get enough sleep and have a balance diet. this way i could prepare myself. although, there are just times when my mind is overuse, and it won't work well. i just tried to relax it, and i will be back for work.

This happens a lot of times especially when I try to write something by force. What works for me in such cases is to go and have a cup of tea, have a chat with a colleague for a couple of minutes and then go back to work again. This way I'm clearing my mind and I manage to concentrate better. Try, may be it will work for you too. Good luck!

thank you for sharing your idea elida. yeah, a cup of tea is a good pastime that could ignite thinking, although, i am more fond on a cup of coffee. what you've responded sometimes work for me. i would relax my mind for a minute and i am done with my work when i go back.

Oh yes, that happens to me, not just some times, but quite often. I imagine that is because of a lot of stress at work and also on personal matters, home, family, money, and so on. One needs to get refreshed off and on to get the brain working properly again, listen to music, take a walk in the garden, play your favorite game, and so on. My favorite way is to listen to my favorite songs and music.

hi, yes,especially when i am hungry,sometimes when i am wakeful, and even when i am tired,this reason why my brain wont work sometimes,and aside from this when i have a problem also,its really hard to think also,,so before i go to my work, i will set aside first my problems, i will eat heavy meal and sleep well in the evening just to avoid this.

Maybe you are so tired. Take a break or relaxation. This never happened to me before,so I do not know how to help you. Anyway,as a accontant,same as you, we should take care of ourselves.

No I am a secretary graduate so taking minutes wouldn't be a problem but I prefer using tapes.

Under stress everyone's brain gets freezes and not respond properly, better train your self under stress and read some motivational things that keep you going take breathing exercise daily, and think like this help do you best and rest leave it, if you are not getting what you want just think that you are not ready to do the work and always calm yourself and relieve of tension that bothers you.

You know what, Sometimes my brain is totally stuck at some point, which I can't do the right communication. I was like not knowing what to said, my brain is blank, and not knowing what I was doing. Some people might look at me confused, blank. I myself just feel embarrassed. Honestly, if you could, take a moment and close your eyes, and not thinking about anything else. Maybe it be a rest for your brain, and not over process it.

Hi mate, I have same experience as well when my brain and memory stuck and I could not thinking and even typing my keyboard..It's just like freeze for a while. I usually will stand up and going around to all my office mates who are not busy and have a simple chat with them or going to rest room to wash hand or whatever we need to do..Sometimes not even I come back to my seat, suddenly an idea just pop-up like that..So I will rush back to my computer and continue my task..Same like if you want to start discussion here in mylot without any idea..so better to responds other mylotters discussion to refresh your mind a minutes, it works for me... Please try it my friend..

I think you could be suffering from some kind of mental stress. You should eat a balanced diet and also take your regular exercise and things will just be okay for you! Have a lovely day, dear!

Perhaps you are just thinking a lot or you are stressed or simply really tired. Our brains too needs time to rest to function properly. Just take thing easy and take time to relax. There are also other reasons why it won't work sometimes. You may also need some aerobic exercises to oxygenate your brain. Consider eating healthy too. Everything matters. So let us also not abuse our brain because it can get tired too and needs proper nourishment.

This happened to me when I'm on a rush. Normally what I did is I stop what I'm doing, take a deep breath and sip coffee then after that everything works fine.
