Hi friends and mylotters! Most of my friends in triond are telling me to make a blog. I write for triond and most of my articles are recipes. My friends told me that recipe blog could be a hit since everyone seeks for recipes. A mylotter friend also told me to make one. But the problem is,I don't know how, waaaaa!!! Can you help me with this? I know all of you are not new to blogging, please share me some of your tips and techniques on how to make a blog and what should I do to make it a good blog.

Consider very carefully before you go starting your own blog. You could be opening a great big bag of worms: blogging is a big subject and new blogs don't get decent traffic for months of regular posting. It usually takes a good 6 months before you'll have a following and that's if you work your butt off on marketing. You'll get no return on your work until the traffic starts coming in. And even then you'll still have to market, post regularly and answer comments. Publishing on an existing site (though I'd choose HubPages or Squidoo rather than Triond, since they have more revenue share options - if they take recipes, of course) means you have access to millions of visitors with no marketing. Basically, blogging is a MUCH bigger commitment - in time, effort and responsibility - if you're doing it for the money. The rewards, obviously, can be greater but it takes a lot of patience to get to a point where you're more than just another recipe blog with a few hits a month. Do a little research on the kind of effort you'll have to put in before you dive in with both feet. It could be the ideal option for you or it could be a real pain in the butt.

It's easy: it's just unrewarding for ages. Especially since Triond doesn't let you republish stuff elsewhere (I believe), so you'd be starting from scratch. If you're up for it - and it helps to look at it in the "hey, why not?" way, as long as you combine patience with that so you don't give up - then go for it. One word of advice, though: make sure whatever platform you blog on provides data exports. If it does catch on and you decide to move it to your own domain, an export will make your life a lot easier.

No Spikethelobster, triond allows us to republish our articles. I've already submitted my articles in triond to some other writing sites and I had no problem with it so I can put my recipe articles on the blog I will make. Regarding data exports..am quite shy about this but can you elaborate it please. I am really new to most terms online and I'm willing to learn many things for my improvement, thanks!

Oh my,so blogging is not easy as 1,2,3,yay! Well,I just want to experience how to make one and hope it'll work, lol! From what you've said,it needs a lot of time and I think that would be a problem for me as I don't have enough time online but I'm not rushing. I might take it slowly but for sure will learn from it. As for the traffic and follows,I hope stumbleupon and some other social bookmarking sites can help as these sites are already giving traffic to my articles.

I love baking and cooking and have attended many baking and cooking classes. I did start a blog to record all my recipes that I learned. But the problem with me is I am too lazy to update my blog. Starting a recipe blog is as simple as ABC but one must update the blog in order to attract more people to your blog.

If you really good in cooking. Just cook and take a photo on your recipe and post it. Make a list on how to cook it... Well, I plan to post an article how to create blog and what best host to create a blog... But at the moment...I still post article about seo. Which is a helpful article for bloggers on how to promote and get visitors in their blog... Because most of the bloggers are struggling on how to get traffic...

Hi my sweet friend. I see a friend of yours already created a blog for you so you can edit it and make changes. If you want to create a video very easy my friend use your microsoft Movie maker. I made one I put on my profile to introduce payment proofs. There is a tutorial that comes with it and not hard to do. I added music to it and very interacting. Blogging is time consuming but remember once it is up you need to continue updating which is the part I personally have neglected. But at least all the basics and more time consuming parts will be done. There is a bit of html you need to learn to do but not difficult my friend at all. Here is a basic html guide you can refer to: (Not a referral link) http://www.vietfun.org/homepage/index.html Have fun enjoy and be creative. Oh and before I forget, Yes you can put the Triond articles there because as long as they were published in Triond first you can then place them anywhere you like. I have mine in a widget on my blog which Triond updates automatically for me.

Yes it is a great feature especially the Triond free widget which anytime you publish an article it automatically gets added to your blogs.

Yes I know about that way but I also signed up with widget and it is associated with Triond and I catered my own type of widget also. Each time something publishes the widget site automatically adds it to my blog.

blogging is somewhat the same as writing your articles. I have thought of doing a blog sharing some of my recipes. you can type some posts about recipes, or talk about good things to substitute for other things, some people have mention videos, which are always good. having a tutorial is very helpful. I use blogger and they are very user friendly.

Hi soulist! Sorry for my delayed reply, been busy doing some articles, hehe! I now have the blog and I'm really happy for it! So far it's working, lol! And yes,it's also like writing articles. I put some pictures of the food and that makes my post look good. Pictures really help in the presentation of the recipe.

I have a couple of blogs that have been sitting idle for months now because I’ve given up on them. The reason for that is I am so tired of the hard work required to promote them! It is almost impossible to obtain decent traffic without spending endless hours and money. My advice to you is don’t bother unless you do it just for yourself. You can start a blog for free on blogger.com or wordpress.com. I hope you have better luck than I did!

Hi paula! Upon reading all the responses here, time and consistentcy in writing in a blog is a big issue. Some have idled their blogs like you did because of time limitations. I will make a blog in blogger and I do hope I can make it. If not,at least I've experienced doing one, hehe! I just want to know how it feels to have my own website.

Hi ravisivan! I visited all the links you've given and wow, they are all good! Don't know if I can make one as good as those! I wish! I am really not great in cooking, hehe! I am more on desserts and no-bake recipes. My hubby is a better cook than me,haha! Mom is the best so some of my written recipes came from her. Will try to make a blog like the recipe blogs you gave, thanks!
