Kevin Pietersen's day! As much as I wanted India to dominate the match ans series form the very starting, I loved the way KP batted, specially at the end of the innings. Its been some time that we have seen him bat in this kind of attacking mode. As for India, they missed Zaheer and Praveen toiled away all day long. Man Praveen can swing it both ways from bowl number one to the very end of 80th over! Good to see that he got the reward for his efforts. At the end England have a good score and has we not lost that much time on the first day, they would have scored more. Now is the time for the second battle of this war. India batting against English bowling. An exciting prospect for the weekend. I'll say England have their hands on the steering but India will catch up. What's say?

England is going to win this match. India will loose this match. There are lots of good bowlers in English Team. Treemlet and Swann will be great threat for Indian batsmen. Best wishes for both team. Though I am not a supporter of Indian team but I wish Sachin is going to score 100 tomorrow.

Some of us might say that you are arriving at a conclusion too soon. But then that the way you see it, hmmmm... can't disagree to the fact that they have good bowlers but then we have great batsmen! Let's see how it goes.

Hi rajgupta i jus cant stop giggling on the prospect of this test match (Ok accepted that india didnot have zaheer !!!..but remember rampaul who broke down in the 3rd test and windies managed to restrict india with their limited resources ...) now add to it the KP slaughter of the indian attack... he left the indians spine less.... Awaiting the battle between " THE GOD " and the eng bowlers....Hope " GOD " answers our prayers Cheers mate .. Bye!!

Hi. First of all welcome to mylot. I would like to apologize here for putting in "Day 1" instead of "Day 2" in the title. Yup the yummiest prospect is definitely that of seeing Sachin score a hundred and then Indian team surpassing England's total. Let's see how it goes. Cheers.

It was a fantastic knock by Kevin Peterson. The Big P seems to be back at his best and this is not great news for Indian bowlers. Probably it is time for us to get our Pie-chucker back!! India now really have to bat very well to ensure that they do not start the series on the wrong foot. Cheers! Ram

Praveen Kumar got his first five wicket haul, but the man of the day was Kevin Pieterson. Zaheer Khan's unavailabilty really weird Indian bowling attack. Of course KP batted really well. At the end of the day, I have to say Indian openers somehow survived the last six overs. At present England is at top in this test and Indian batsmen have perform well to save this test.

I watched some of KP's innings today and loved that ace 6 into the Members enclosure lol. Nearly took someone's head off..excellent stuff! I have a feeling that Tendulkar bloke will have something to say with his batting prowess. I only hope it's not a draw. How I HATE draws!

The day definately belonged to Kevin Pieterson and England. He batted well and got his double hundred and has put England in the drivers seat and if India faulter in their first innings on day three then they will be in serious trouble. The conditions are idesl for swing bowling and the Indian batsmen cannot afford to lose early wickets. The absence of Zaheer Khan will surely troubled India and Dhoni will know that he is missing his trump card. Praveen stepped up to the ocassion and grabbed a fiver and that helped India restrict England. Had Praveen not got those wickets then England might have gone on to make a big first innings total and India would have then had to look at saving the test...
