I should blame on myself

I would love to offer excellent customer service, and I want the customer satisfied too with the food and the service we provided too. Long story short, I work at a restaurant during the weekend, as a part - time job to earn some extra cash. I usually pick up the phone and take to - go order, and pack the order when it is ready. Today, probably it is Friday, people would like to go out for dine - in, and it was a bit busy. But that is no excuse for that. One customer placed an order on the phone, and she picked up the order which I packed. She called back 20 minutes later, and told me that she didn't get one item she ordered. I would like to give her a store credit, and next time she can order the same item free. But she would rather have that item credit back to her credit card account. She was mad indeed, and complained that her last order also missing one item, and she was irritated by such service. I apologized a couple of times, and assure her that I will try to improve our quality of work. Then she would threaten stop patronage with us if we won't do anything about it. I deeply feel bad about this, and maybe I should pay double attention on all orders. Sorry once again, and I knew how important customer satisfaction is to all businesses.

Yes just double check next time the orders. You will learn from that incident though. You just did the right thing asking for apology to the customer. It was a decent move for you to do that. Just remember nobody is perfect in this world so don't blame yourself try to be careful next time so that it won't happen again.

Sometimes those things happen when it is busy. Just credit the woman's money and forget it. Next time, just double check all the orders and make sure you wrote down everything they ordered before they get off the phone. Read the order back to the person. That should help.
