My friend recently started working at a new company and after a few months was promoted to a new division and tasked with being the manager of 5 employees who oversee roughly $30m of funds. This was amazing news as they just started there and shows how much confidence the company has in the person. This got me thinking, how long has it been for you before you got your 1st promotion(not a salary increase). The least I have ever heard from someone was 5 months. Happy MyLotting!

I could not break the record. I got the promotion after six months. I was quite excited about that. It was a huge surprise, a very pleasant surprise for me, since that was faster than I had expected. Apparently, the Company gave a lower postion at the start to see how good I was in that line of work. After six months, they became more confident with me.

Great news for you! The main issue is growing with a company and not staying at the same level(as long as the company stays afloat etc). Hope you continue to grow and grow in the company.

I worked in a work where there is no promotion, but it involved election to get into the top. But recently and I jot into a different job and it took me one year to move up and the following year I was promoted to be head of the department of section. My promotion in the space of two years send all other workers in ther section screaming and complaining. They did not cooperative with me to sobatage my intergrity and work. However, I worked yet and set down rules. During the two years of my headship I recommended three people for dismissal. Two appealed and came back, one got terminated. One the rest of the workers under my supervision are scared to their bones and they cooperated with me. I was even surprised myself being promoted that quick.
