I just watched a documentary about revelations and the rapture, and that apparently more than half of Americans believe that the rapture is near... Is this right? Also the whole topic is a bit of a grey area. I am an atheist and therefore do not believe in all this stuff, but I do find it quite interesting (and funny) that according the what I would think many Christians believe, I am destined to go to hell after the end of the world when all the believers get to go to a so called heaven. For me this is slightly hard to swallow, partly because if hell is what we are told to believe, it's very hot down there (down where? in the centre of the earth? hmmm) and my main problem is that I really don't like hot weather. Seriously, even a small amount of sun and 20 degrees Celsius heat makes me uncomfortable. Also (because I am atheist) I just have this innate lack of gullibility, and my idea of belief is something that you have to actually believe in, so I'm doomed by my own lack of faith, horay!

People have been preaching the end of the world since the beginning of time. It's not going to happen anytime soon. As for hell, it doesn't exist, however when our actions return to teach us, some might describe that as hell. Make great choices and that problem goes away. Believing has never been important to God so stop worrying.

i believe in God but nobody knows when it will be the final day. The biblie says that even the Son knows. i dont believe in Ghosts , i dont believe in fairies... the bibles never describes the hell like we imagined..it was confusion because of ancient literature. remember: " Dante'inferno is fictional and pagan. As you to be " lost".. well.. the bible says that better to be cynical about that being a lukewarm believer

I am by no means Christian or any faith that follows the bible. I consider myself a non practicing pagan. But I do think the bible holds some truth. Just look at the world around us. Crop harvests are failing, governments are crashing, there have been more natural disasters in the past few years then there have been in hundreds of years. Is the world coming to an end? I don't know but we sure aren't helping any. As for burning in an eternal h3ll, I don't believe in that so therefore it won't happen to me.lol I know its weird but its just what I believe.

I don't know where that stat came from, but I find it hard to believe that over half the people in this country think any rapture is about to occur. I feel sorry for the children of these folks, because they must think "fine. so mom and dad have had a chance at life, but I'm never even gonna get to drive" and such.
