Are Bigger Dreams Bad

I was just thinking. It seems the past few years life has really put it hard on me. I still have my dreams, and some of them are huge. Not only speaking in a personal monetary gain or anything, but as if, if given the chance... I could do something really great. I'm not talking about finding the cure for cancer, but maybe be successful in a comfortable sense, where I could operate a true physical business. I would like to hear your view about your dreams and goals, big and small. Going back to mine. To have a business for me, if I was already comfortable financially. I would only wish for the business to be able to keep itself running while being able to provide a number of people with a job. So the business would only exist for the employees. Yes I am sure it would still have to turn some of a profit, but that could always be invested back into the business to give them better benefits or pay. Maybe one day I'll have this chance... a good reason to keep dreaming I feel.

I like your dream - it sounds very selfless which is a bit unusual when it comes to big dreams. I also don't consider it to grandiose to become reality for you. I wish you the best of luck with it. :) I think dreaming for the top is fine as long as a dose of reality is kept on the side. There are some big dreams one should pursue with all his/her being and other dreams with which it is wiser to let go of. For example, some people dream of being the next Stephen King or Elvis Presley. These dreams are fine - if you have at least a little bit of what it takes from the start. Someone who is tone deaf or someone who can not write convincing fiction is obviously not going to be the next music or writer king. Somehow who does not to work isn't going to make it either. If someone has a dream that relies on a place that is their weakness, it would be best for that person to give up the dream and find a new dream that is possible based on their strengths and how willing they are to work for that dream. Personally, I would like to become a recognized, published author someday. I don't know how realistic that is, but it sure would be nice. :)

Thank you for your reply. I understand what you are saying. I also wish you the best of luck in one day accomplishing your dreams. Maybe you should check out self-publishing e-books with Amazon. Just a friendly suggestion.

Thanks! I've have been researching self-publishing, but it requires a lot of marketing as of now as skill I am not the best at. :)

I dont think bigger dreams are bad as long as your trying to reach it without hurting anyone.. and about your dream.. its really good I hope everything will turn out according to what you want soon... As for me at this moment I dont even know what I want.. which actually sux... I actually envy those people who got plans and dreams... so keep it up :)!!!

Thank you for the kind words. As said before, this is just a large dream. One of many to be exact. Not better, and still in the same boat, no true definitive plan on how to achieve/accomplish these goals.

I had read this written on some thingy in archies(gift) shop and its a good one ''Reach for the stars, and even if you fall short, you'll land on the moon'' No dream is bad until its for a bad cause, you would never regret running after your dream but it might not be true otherwise

Very nice saying. Not to jump off-topic, I like the old saying, "Show me your friends, and I'll show you your future".
