With the content of such a magnificent potential, Indian cricket team lost the match to England at Lords. Now we have to think upon the reasons behind this fall. Was it due to Anderson's outstanding bowling or Pieterson's incredible batting. I am sure Dhoni's decision to ball was not a brilliant idea too. All in all the thing which matters in the result. England won and India lost. Hope in future things will turn in India's favour and "Revenge" will be taken in full sportsmanship's spirit.

Dear Vishalssgk, Team India has always been poor starters of a tour. If you recollect, since 2001/2002, they have managed to lose the 1st tests almost always against big teams. There are many reasons to this. The lack of good practice games, the bowling not being at full strength due to a lot of reasons. I mean Zaheer got injured in this test match when he was actually bowling like a dream....!!! Harbhajjan's bowling recently has been not that effective. Then the batsmen, Sehwag was not playing, Gambhir got a bad hit and Sachin was not feeling well...!!!! The captaincy was not up to the mark and was predictable at times or may be he did not take the necessary risks needed. All these reasons and the fact that England played extremely well. The English men out did the Indians in pretty much all the departments....!!!! Lets face it, England has a very good test team now. They have not been performing well in the one dayers. But their recent track record in tests is phenomenal...!!! But according to me, it would be stupidity to write off the Indians. History shows that they always bounce back. But it will be a good test for both the teams, that is for sure...!!! One thing that every one has to realize is that, it is still a sport and in sports you win some and you lose some....!!!! All it matters is that every one puts in 100% all the time...!!! Share your views... Balu

I agree with you but being the world champions we expected some "fight" from Indian team, but they simply surrendered. A world champion team has to honour its position and put their best in matches. Also as you said captaincy was not at all up to the mark. Still I don't understand why Dhoni needs to bowl... Anyway's lets hope that next match will be in our favour. And champs will prove that they are not underdogs. Thanks for reply.

I think this is the same old story for the Indians. Starting a series with a poor first match. Then they try and get back harder in the remaining matches. I thought India really fought hard in the second innings. But Sachin first went into his shell and lost his wicket. I just think that is not his game. Then Dhoni got out and that meant the curtains. There were only around 20 odd overs left. Dhoni could have batted a bit more judiciously and helped save the match for India. But sadly that did not happen. Cheers! Ram

Hi, Rise and fall are the parts of human life or else we would never be human being and the Almighty would mean nothing for us. I am not shocked at the defeat of the Indian defeat of the Indian team for one has to look back their back to back matches in the recent past. They are not horse after all. All is not not lost, the inconsiderable and the will to take revenge and the never ending zeal to to come victorious must paste all the players and they can not be living space to overtake others .

looks like India will struggle to make it 1-1 and then struggle and draw the 3rd test, do we have more than 3 tests?, I doubt it. or worse we will end up 0-2 and demand for a change in captain. it is becoming so predictable.

Win and loss all are part of game. Our INDIAN team is better than English but it didn't mean that they can't play better. Also our batsmen in this match had played poorly. Bowling loss of Zaheer get suffered. Though praveen kumar did some good but it was too late but what harbhazan did he only know You can't do like this blaming on decision is a bad habbit, decision was right but we didn't played well and Dhoni need to play at crusial time and not just for fame. Hope INDIA will do well in next matches and atleast draw the series. Best of luck to INDIAN team

India lost to England and by a big margin. The injuries during the match did not help India at all and they were in deep troble after Zaheer left the field. With three important players down India were playing on crutches and England took full advantage of the situation. Also the fielding on the first day did not help. Dhonis decision to bowl first was a good decision and had they fielded well they could have had England in some kind of trouble. Pieterson played well in the first innings to get a double hundred and thet made a big difference to the outcome of the game. Anderson did well to clean up the Indian batting lineup and win the game for his side. Yes we all hope that India will make a comeback in the series and overpower England..

Yes this was a big loss of Indian team because they have lost their match by 196 runs. As our Indian team is in form after winning this world cup nobody can say that we have not good batsman in team. But there are problem of fitness and also some problem of practice for players. Because our most emerging player Sachin and Zaheer is playing test match after long time so this is a problem for them. But now this is truth that first test match is going to England’s favor.
