The new Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hanakimi)

So they decided to make a new Hanakimi series with a new set of cast to portray the roles played by Horikita Maki, Ikuta Toma and Oguri Shun. The drama has already started with Atsuko Maeda of AKB48 playing the lead role of the girl who pretended to be a boy in order to get into a boy school to be with a guy she idolized.
I wouldn't be watching this one. I loved Hanakimi with Ikuta Toma and the rest and I think I'm already satisfied with it. I wouldn't want to get disappointed in a remake of the drama that I loved a lot. Just by looking at the new cast, I don't think they can be compared in the tandem of Horikita Maki, Oguri Shun and Ikuta Toma. But then, I haven't really seen them act so I can't say anything about their acting. Atsuko Maeda is a singer and I haven't seen her in a drama. I've seen Nakamura Aoi in some dramas but they are not major roles and his acting was just okay. Other actors, I have not really seen anywhere.
So would you watch this drama? Or are you already watching it?

I just found out about this! Good thing you made this discussion or I would probably have only found out much later on.
Why would they remake a drama that was excellent?? It's gonna just spoil the image of Hana Kimi. I don't understand what they're doing. .

They really are spoiling it! The ratings are pathetic. 
I don't know about Maeda Atsuko's acting but she looked terrible trying to look like a guy!
I've been a jdorama fan for a very, verryyyy long time now.

I'm currently watching Meitantei Conan, Asuko March and GOLD. I'm watching Conan just because I'm waiting for Matsuzaka Tori's appearance as Heiji! lol I have downloaded all of Asuko March's episode but I still haven't finished watching it. I guess Tori isn't enough reason for me to go through the series. ^^ And I'm watching GOLD because of Tori and Amami Yukie.
I have just recently finished watching season 2 of Code Blue, and season 2 of BOSS. I'm about to watch Freeter, Ie wo Kau of Ninomiya Kazunari.
What about you? ^^

Aww. I wish there are sites that can help you track dramas you've watched though. Like how I use Anime News Network to track and rate anime + manga I've watched/read and want to watch/read.
I've heard of d-addicts too but I haven't registered with them cos I'm not sure what the site does. Maybe I'll register now. Thanks for the suggestion! :D

I get all my dramas from d-addicts. You will only have to register and you can access tons of dramas with subtitles. I highly recommend that site. I got all the episodes of Code Blue 2 there.
I've watched Kurosagi and Nobuta wo Produce, too! I agree, Horikita Maki acts well. She's got movies as well as far as I know.
I like Toda Erika, too! Did you watch Ryusei no Kizuna? She's there along with two members of Arashi. 
I've been meaning to watch Liar Game but I keep on forgetting due to the many dramas I'm watching.

I just recently heard about this one. At first I thought the Hana Kimi was going to be adapted into a Korean Drama (as there already is a Japanese and Taiwanese adaptation). When I read about an article in detail, they were going to remake it as Japanese Drama with a new cast. Like you, I really love the Hana Kimi with Horikita Maki, Oguri Shun, Ikuta Toma and Mizushima Hiro. It was really very entertaining. Personally though, I wouldn't want them to do this remake. I wanted to maintain the image the original cast portrayed.
I haven't watched the new Hana Kimi series yet. But if I have the time, I would like to see it. I am very interested to know how they are going to pull this one off after a success with the previous Hana Kimi. It's interesting to note also if this would be disappointing or equally fun as the first one. :)

Finally! Someone who likes Hanakimi like me! ^^ I really don't like it when they make too many remakes of one drama show. Why can't they just think of a new story??
If you watch this series, tell me if this is as good as the original one.

I like a lot of these dramas and watched a lot of them too. Hana Kimi is just one of them. They've got interesting plots and characters. :)
I totally agree. New stories are also interesting to follow. And it would take out the boredom in remakes since we already know the story. And if the remake does not exceed or be at par with the original, it would only be disappointing. :)
If I ever get the time, I would check this out and for sure,tell you what I think about it. :)

I'm happy I met another Japanese drama fan!!!!
I'm actually following the ratings of some Japanese dramas being aired currently there. I think the last ratings for Hana Kimi, although it was stable, it was a bit low compared to the original Hana Kimi. .

haha, i'm not watching it and i will not watch it for sure either. It's been a long time since i watched that kind of dramas, secret ^^ I prefer taiwanese dramas whereby i understand the language and being more comfortable with them.. lol =D Though the girls from AKB48 are pretty, but they are not enough to attract me to the show, just for the sake of ogling at them?? lol =D

I just hope the remake is just as fun as the first one. It's sad to see that the succeeding episodes went down from 2-digit ratings to single digit (19%-7%-8%) if I remember correctly). I think I'd rather follow "Ikemen Desu Ne" and "Ouran High school host club" rather than this one :(

Yeah, I've also seen the ratings fall down for this show. It's really sad. I loved the original Hanakimi. Nakatsu was the best!!! I have not seen any episode of Ouran High School Host Club but that's another drama I would like to see. I've seen a pic of the guys without their shirt on.

I haven't seen Ouran High Host Club drama yet. But I am a fan of the manga and anime! So that would be something to look forward..I would love to see that drama.. :)
