Did anyone of you felt the earthquake around 1:30 am? I was sleeping, but maybe I was sleeping lightyly so I felt it. I thought my husband just rocked the bed but he was in deep sleep so I said that can't be him. Later I learned that it was an earthquake. Who else felt it?

This was one night I decided that I'm not going to be in my computer and I would sleep early and open the PC again at around 4 to 5 o'clock in the morning, so I was spared from feeling it

Spared? I think it is harder if you are sleeping when there's a calamity, might wake up in heaven

Spared from feeling it, that's what I meant. You also mentioned that in your post, right? That you were spare from feeling it...

It happened around 1:20AM and I was completely awake. I was lying down on my bed watching a movie on my laptop. I thought I started to feel dizzy. I tried to feel my bed and it was shaking. But I didn't panic. I'm already used to earthquakes because I was in Japan when the huge earthquake happened in March this year. That was more terrifying, of course, than what happened last night here in the Philippines. I'm used to it, and that's what's scary. :(

Japanese people must be so used to earthquakes already! I have a cousin working in Japan and he told me it's a regular thing there... unless of course if the magnitute or intensity is a bit high. Otherwise, it's just a shake that happens almost everyday.

Hello pinkpiglet, am sure that if Filipinos felt the magnitude the japanese felt in japan, definitely the people will panic and start praying to god left and right. I wonder what would have happened if we experienced the earth quake from different parts of the country, people will get really scared and not organized. Have a nice day

hi ellovire. yup, felt the earthquake as well. i was in the bedroom with my daughter and i felt the bed shaking. i also saw the pictures hanging on the wall shake a bit. i quickly got up and picked my daughter and went outside the house as a precaution. it was a 5.9 magnitude tremor. i would imagine that for those who are in high-rise buildings at the time, they would feel the earthquake ten-fold. i'm just glad that there were no serious damages to life and property because of the earthquake.

hi ellovire. well, i didn't tell my daughter about the earthquake as well as i don't want her to panic. i just told her that we were going out of the house for awhile to check on something. when the tremor subsided we went back in and i asked her to sleep again. like you, i didn't sleep immediately and decided to stay up a bit more to see if there might be aftershocks or perhaps a stronger earthquake. i just wanted to be sure.

I was so scared for my two year old son too! He was sleeping so tight and so I decided not to disturb him yet and not to panic since the shake was not that intense anyways. But I was up after it, I could not find myself to sleep after that since I am afraid of aftershocks.

Hello ellovire, I have no clue as what you guys are talking about. but i slept around three in the morning though I never experience this earth quakes, probably I was too freaking busy with mylotting. my friend Jaiho kept telling it to me but i didn't felt it i guess i didn't have the senses to feel it. probably I would if I was in a tall building. and the last time i felt it was during my highschool years i thought some one was rocking my chair. have a nice day.

Yeah, maybe you were so busy that you did not feel anything. When we are mobile, we tend not to feel light earthquakes.

I was sleeping during that time so I wasn't able to feel it. It is not that I'm looking forward to feel it though . Most of my friends are in 27th floor building during that time and they thinks it is really kind of scary.

It was just a light shake so if you were sleeping, you really won't feel a thing. I often do not sleep deep so I can feel light shakes.

Yes I felt it since nowadays I'm awake during nighttime I was surfing the net when I felt it. It's unbelievable that I'm on the 12th floor of my condo unit and still the hanging lamps were noticeably swaying I can't imagine how strong it must have been felt for the people on the ground floor.

Good that you were able to sleep tight after the shake. I forgot all about sleeping anymore for I was thinking of aftershocks and all that. I am afraid of earthquakes!

Im from Manila, Quezon City in particular. It was just a light shake, but very noticeable. A lot felt it actually, because when I checked on my Facebook, almost all of my friends' status were about the earthquake. My sister who works in a call center felt a more intensed shake because they are on the 15th floor.

I did. I was asleep when my boyfriend woke me up saying there's an earthquake. we felt a slight shake because we were only in the 2nd flr of the building. it may be much more shaky for those living at higher floors. I learned this afternoon, it was intensity 3. Center of the earthquake was in Zambales.

You from Manila? I guess it was only intensity 3+ in Manila...but there are places in Luzon that experience 5+ intensity.
