My pc has two ram slots with ddr2 of 1GB and 2 GB size which totals to 3GB but my bios reads them as 512MB and 1GB that's exactly equal to half the ram size this problem started a few months ago... untill then it showed me 3gb and now suddenly its showing half of the size. I have tried swapping and running them with single ram but no use it still shows half the ram size.please help mylotters.....

This is a normal problem and not a big one.No need to worry.I used to reduce the ram memory to half by self to increase my vga graphics memory. Now i have a graphics card and i have restored it to full. Solution: 1.restart computer and press del at start to open bios. 2.In bios select restore to default and save and exit. All will become normal now. 3.different motherboards have different bios navigation methods so you find restore to default option by yourself. This will solve the problem.

Advanced method: 1.follow first step. 2.In bios go to advanced tab.In advanced tab.In advanced tab select PCIPnP.In this press enter on or select PCI latency timer. 3.here there are certain values.choose the lowest one like 64 or 32. 4.Now save and exit. 5.do this only if restore to default fails.First do restore to default. 6.different motherboards have different bios navigation system. So read your Motherboard book or judge by yourself. It is a trail and error method. 7.this is as per my motherboard navigation.I did this way.

It is better to read motherboard book.It is mentioned in it. There is also one more option i forgot to mention but try this two first. The third option is bit risky. Remember if you mess up in bios just press restore to default. Good luck.
