It is not just shapes imprinted on on rocks, there are complete skeletons. There is just way too much evidence that they existed.

I have actually thought of this!lol i thought i was the only one.But this is probably impossible but it is an interesting thought to have.

My son at 8 years old heard of a fossil club at Washington University in St Louis Missouri. He asked me if he could join. I thought he was to young but took him to the next meeting. The group of men welcomed him as the youngest member to the group. We went on many digs all over the state of Missouri. Our favorite place to go was around Branson Missouri. Lots of good fossils to be found in this area. You are right about imprints in rock such as plant life, sea life, and even bugs. Even fossilized bathroom remains were found and I learned to distinguish it from tree bark. But when you talk about a real dinosaur such as a T-Rex, then you are talking about bone being incased by rock through thousands of years. Our Palentologists on archiological digs don't really dig as using shovels as this will impact remains. many types of brushes are used to brush away dirt, sand etc. Once the form is there and if it indeed is embedded in rock, instruments such as a dental pick is used to gently and safely scrape the rock away. There is also a type of saw, that the stone has to stay wet while they cut the chunk of rock to get to the fossil. Fossils do come in many forms. While some only leave imprints...even to footprints, my son and I still enjoy stopping by cliffs when driving through various states to see what we find in the rock. Our favorite fossil hunting site was down around Branson Missouri. Its a good fossil find in that area.

My cousin and I were arguing if dinosaur do existed. He said, it might have been around the world years ago but he doesn't think they are huge. He stated that maybe scientists are just trying to make it a fantastic discovery, making them great for their craft. I disagree because I said, some animals today are huge on sizes, the elephants, the whales and crocodile as well. But he insisted, yes they are big but the description of the dinos are way bigger like bus' size. U may be right, the fossils maybe just natural imprint from Earth changing condition from long ago...
