I am looking for a country that has a matriarchal society. What country does the society has matriarchal authority? I know that we're in the patriarchal society and its culture is spread out all over the world. I just want to know if there is some country that has a matriarchal society and how does society work.

Well, it's very rare these days, and we have been talking about it in my U.S. History Women's class, but I am sure that there are still some out there. I know that here in the U.S. we have a few women who are breaking the barriers when it comes to forming Matriarchal societies. In my family, the men are dying out, so we women have kind of had to form a bit of a matriarchal society because we didn't have a choice. Women in my family can inherit property and money, and they can take care of the family without the aid of men. We have had to learn how to because, as I have said, the men are dying out. Men don't live long or last long in my family.

one of the few remaining matriarchial societies is the Musuo somewhere in southwertern china. i also read way back then about some tribes in asia and south america being matriarchial or matrilineal. in these communities, it is the mother of the family who owns and controls the properties and such. back in those days, this is the norm. we could realize that ancient religions base their deities on women, e.g. gaia. for a whole country, i'm just not sure. well, england is ruled by a queen, while her husband has apparently no power.
