evening night classes..

i completed my schooling aged 18. i walked away with 11 GCSE's and 3 A-Levels, which is a fantastic achievement, and i got grades ranging from A*'s to A's to B's .. with the exception to one C in maths [my worst, worst, worst subject!] ..
i was pleased with myself, and had contemplated going to university, to better myself further and do more with my intelligence, but after not being able to decide whether to attend the prestigious local university, or to go to university in scotland or england, i decided to take a year out, and work, save some money, maybe travel a little, and then go.
well that never happened. i landed a good full-time job with a local bank, where i was earning a decent monthly wage, i moved out of my mums house, again, after briefly moving back, and had my own life and my own independence. and my own money. university became the farthest thought from my mind, and with the appeal of overtime, to earn extra money, and taking a few extras days off here and there, leaving with me with little or no consecutive days off, travel soon became a dream too.
that was 6 years ago, and i still have my own life, home, independence and job.. but i'm sort of in a limbo now. i can't seem to move up in my current employment and as far as applying for other jobs go, when i first left school my qualifications and personality could allow me to walk into any job. [i have never attended an interview where i did not get the job].. but now employers want more. they want university degrees or NVQ's.. or atleast 3 years experience in the selected sector.. but without a degree or NVQ i can't get a job IN that sector at all, to even have 3 years experience TO work my way up.
so i've been thinking about evening night classes. they are expensive but i think my mummy and daddy would help me out, so long as i stuck at it and didn't just pick and choose when i wanted to go. many night classes are on from 7-9 and i finish work at 5 so i could race home, get changed and something to eat and then get to class.
or studying from home? i know there are ways that you are able to study from home and get qualifications that way.. but its very pricey i've heard, and i also hear it takes a long time to get to that stage of qualification with that type of course, and that the qualifications aren't accepted or recognised by certain places of employment.
has anyone ever done either, and would recommend any?
