Well i should be thankful to my new tattoo and my husband's tattoo too. Our son finally slept in his own bed last night after i told him that i don't want him beside us coz he might hit my tattoo and it would be so painful just in case. He was mad, at first and then he told me to give him his pillow, asked his nanny to get his favorite blanket and the moment he hit the bed he fell asleep. The best thing that i was so happy about was when he woke up, he made his own bed before going to school. He also said he would sleep in his own bed from now on.

That's so nice of your child.. I myself never learned to arrange my bed until I was 18... It's a good thing to teach children even the small values (like this) that they should learn. Even if this is small, it is one way of teaching them to be responsible. He might have felt that it's nicer to sleep alone.. My brother (who is 11) still can't sleep alone.. but it's better for children to learn to sleep alone and some things on their own.

I think it made him feel like a grown up. He likes to be treated as one.

Yes i agree that kids thrive on freedom and will learn from guided independence.

awww i'm so happy for you!! i know you love having him so close to you, but a child sleeping in their own bed is part of the development process!! a child sleeping in its own bed is its first footstep into being independant! and i know its a long way off, but someday your child will have his own house, and his own bed, and it can be a really daunting experience, say for example he goes to university.. yes he'll have been sleeping on his own, but he;ll still have the comfort of you being in the house.. so the earlier he's on his own. the better :) well done, and congrats!!

Wow that's great, and shows a grown up attitude to the situation. I think it's great that it was at his own will to make the move into his own bed because he doesn't want to hurt you. That's really cute! I think it's great that he wants to continue sleeping in his own bed, but i wonder how long it will actuall last, like making his own bed! =)

I wonder too and hope it'll be forever. Last night he slept alone again. He seems to be enjoying though he felt a little sad being alone.

I sleep on my own since I was 6 years old and yes, I hate it at first but after a while I found that it is more fun to sleep alone than with other people!(^^) Now my nephews turn to sleep on their own and they dislike it. I think most kids do not like to sleep alone because they are afraid of the dark room but sleep with lights on is not good for the body too.I found it so sweet to hear your child sleep in his own bed.(^^)

That's great - I'm glad to hear that your son has slept in his own bed! Hopefully this will be just the start and he will sleep in his bed every night from now on, and it will be the start of a new habit for him. How sweet that he even made his own bed!

I'm crossing my fingers on that. He slept alone again last night but with a little complaint. When he woke up this morning he crawled into our bed and then suddenly uttered that he had forgotten to fix his, so he went back again! So cute.

Good advice, I am fond of tattoos and our son would never sleep in his own bed after watching paranormal activity, so I better get a new one just in case this goes on.
