When prayer is abused...

Prayer is as always our refuge to anxiety, depression and graces for the good things in life. But when it is abused, it can promote to dependency, escape and even doubt. Since many people pray and think that leaving it all to God believing that everything happens is in God's will, so they just wait for God to do the work for them. And when everything fails, they blame it all or begin to doubt if there is indeed a God. As for me, I will do my best to fulfill something and not leave it all to Him and only ask for His blessings and guidance. Because my belief is that He has equipped us with the will, the choices and the rationality to do what is best that we may prove to Him that we are worthy.

I don't think that prayer can ever be abused. We should always look higher for greater understanding and move with whatever understanding we have at the moment. I think we have to humble ourselves to listen and seek guidance but we should always try to step out on faith (greater action) toward our greatest good. We have to keep pressing forward.

So true. "Knock and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find". We have to make efforts in achieving what we want with God's helping hands.

I think if we focused on taking massive inspired action. When you pray, you have laid your understanding down to a higher source. Next, when you begin to get ideas, or feel moved to go in certain directions, talk to certain people, or do certain things, we need to act. So, in my humble opinion, both the prayer and the action go together. Now, as you can see, I said "inspired action."

If I may, I'll change the third to the last line you have said, I will do my best to fulfill something and I WILL LEAVE it all to HIM, as in full dedication I will leave it to Him, GOD is much stronger and able to do things rather than me,he is my TOWER and REFUGE ,He do GIVES me WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE. Receiving or Treating GOD's answers to our prayer is the one that makes the situation different or one's belief to be different. Prayer is a privilege, it is like a cell phone line to God that whenever you are able to text Him you could, and its unlimited, and He is never busy. You might want to say that, prayer without action is void, in that case that's true, God can do things into your life with an equivalent effort from you, a counter parting scheme, so if you can still do something about the situation or the matter, act on it with His gracious wisdom to make it right.

I can definately see where you are coming from because there are people that when a situation happens in their life, they feel that since everyone else is Praying for them, they do not need to Pray. And then when things do not happen the way they want them too, or not fast enough for them, they start to blame God for all their problems never taking time to make sure they are doing all that they can as well. We must remember God cannot help those who do not help themselves, and when we refuse to lean on and Trust him we are only hurting ourselves.
