Who has summer reading?

Especially in High School, our teachers just LOVE to give us ahem, "gifts" to use over the summer. I.E, books we probably would never read of our own volition. What book(s) do you have? Do you have any reading/study tips, in case the book is boring and hard to focus on?

I have to read books about "data base systems" 1000 pages of boring and hard material.
well , one good way to deal with books is to divide the time you have :
if u need to read 1000 pages , then let's say it takes you 7 minuts per page.
if you try reading 2 pages every hour , it will give you enaugh time to do what you like. and after 10 hours , you read 20 pages without noticing it.
i'm sure you can read a lot more an faster than that. so , if you don't like reading , just read some minuts every hour , like 3 pages per hour... you will have fun when you see how fast you read and you will want to read some more.
