We now have an intern after the first day away, which is in a relationship with the owner of the rival company. We cover specific market segments that would be interesting for the competition. How would you handle it and where is the line where people can have relationships to the competition, without causing any damage?

One must be very careful these days because of the general Equality Act, for any reason you reject people. I want it once this way: There must exist a very important, non-discriminatory reason to dismiss the trainee. Only to business-damaging behavior of suspicion regarding data security is very thin ice.

Uh I would not allow them to be apart of the business if they were in the bed with my oposer or compettiter. It just does not make sense to do this as it not only puts doubts and stress on the people who work around said person, but there is the real possibility that your coveted information will be leaked to the other side. It's just human nature. Thats why so many corporations don't allow such relationships, they simply state if you want to have one with said person do it on your time not ours and not while your employed with us.
