The majority of the time you can get really good prices on all items...generally on ebay, you get better prices than what you can get them for in the shops...I have recently bought brand new brake pads for my car which saved me a good $40 (including postage) than what I could buy them for in the shop.

Most bidding sites are scams, and you should avoid them. Let me explain how it works, because they make themselves look very good. Lets say you have an iPod, worth about $50. The bid site will buy very few of these. They will then post the Ipod for bids, starting at $0.99. And everyone goes oooooo look at the deal on an iPod! The most common bid site will require you to purchase a bid. Say $10 for 10 bids or something to that effect. Then you spend your bids, bidding on the iPod. However, what you do not know is that the site has fake bidders. Not real people, but a program that automatically makes fake bids. Within minutes of you bidding, a 'bot' will make a fake bid, to out bid you. You then, thinking it is another person, make another bid. And back and fourth you go, out bidding each other, while you are using up all your bids. This requires you to buy my bids... after all you don't want to lose that iPod for $10, right? So you buy another 10 bids. If you lose, then the fake bots win, and the web site loses nothing, because they are not going to give out an ipod to a fake bot obviously. If you keep bidding until the price is over $50, then they may let you win, because now they are getting more money from you than they purchased the iPod with. Plus they keep all the money you spent buying bids. Other sites have a similar system, but they force you pre-pay for the win. If you lose, they only give you a partial refund. A "service fee" if you like. The only site that I still trust is Ebay. If you lose, you pay nothing. If you win, you pay exactly what it sold for plus shipping (unless free-shipping). And if you get a broken product, Ebay will refund you.

Well I have some reservations on auction sites in terms of bidding! As far as I can gather, some website requires we have money into account before bidding and I can understand that! However, what happens if we win or losse through bids? Obviously we're require to pay if we win! It the losses that I am wondering! We losses occur, do losses go back to bidder's account? If not, this is some king of gambling!

i don't understand what you are trying to say. can you explain it more further? i think there are some auction site that could be considered as gambling but there are also an auction site that cannot be considered as gambling or works like lottery or by chances.

Bidding is a very joyful life to get something cheap, but good in quality. Sometimes, I realized that the bidding price was about the same or a bit higher than the market price. I guessed the bidders did not know the exact market price or there was a reason which was beyond our knowledge. I did bid few times via the ebay when I were trying to get some IT products from oversea. ha! ha! I shall bid or purchase something when I can not get it in local market or it is extremely low in term of price.

i think so, i am thinking of it as a joyful thing to do. i am planning to participate in one of the new auction site which very unique because when you placed a bid, the value of an item decreases. it really works like a bazaar where you can buy an item for as low as $0.10 with free shipping and tax.

According to my mom's logic,it is shameful to buy something without bidding .When i was in high school ,i read an article depicting an funny scence :one customer walks into a shop and want to buys one carpet or something .After asking the price of it ,he takes his wallet from his pocket and pays ,which shocks the boss of the shop . The boss persuades the customer to barginning and gives a discount to him . It turns out that the boss gets used to barginning . He can't sell anything before bidding . I am not good at haggling as i am not a talky guy . But i will go to different shops and consult the price before settling it down . Actually , it does save me some money .A couple days ago, i went to a digital products mall to buy a webcam .With consulting the seller ,i saved like 10 yuan . It is totally worthy. LOL

Hi! Yes I have. In fact, I made a discussion about that. Here's the link in case you'd like to know how was my experience. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2554106.aspx I saved almost P1500 from its regular price and it was real fun. Though my product arrived a little delayed but its because of the courier, I am still so happy when I got it. I suggest though that if you will buy online, make sure the seller is someone who has good feedback and many transactions already. Be careful and make sure you buy from sites that offer protection for customers like Ebay.

great. its a good experience and it really saves you a lot of money. i am planning to participate in the item auctions in the Tagvillage bazaar. where you could purchase for as low as $0.10 with free shipping and tax anywhere in the world. i like this one because you can win a bid with just 3-5 bids on a certain products and it would only cost me $1.5-$2.5 to win the product.

I haven't tried yet but I found an auction site online where you can bid for cars. If I had enough money I could have started bidding there and have a car but I don't have much idea on the whole process. I should learn a bit more before I attempt to try.

I am so sorry, But no I havent purchased any products through bidding. So I therefore do not have any advice to offer you. I usually choose to shop in person this is my preference, to shop in person. I wish I could I have been more helpful.
