iPad2 or iPod Touch?

I've been contemplating lately whether I should buy an iPad2 or the iPod Touch. Pricewise, the iPod Touch is cheaper at around $299 compared to the Ipad2 which is at $499. I read in the internet that they almost have the same apps. The only difference is in the display as the iPad2 has obviously a larger display and is perfect for reading ebooks and watching videos. On the other hand, the iPod Touch is easier to carry since it is smaller and lighter. Can you help me decide? Also, if you have tips on where I can get the best deals for these products, can you share them here? All your inputs are very much appreciated. Thanks!

I bought an iPad last year. And even though I was so impressed by it when it came out, the novelty wore off after some time. Even when the iPad2 came out with it's built in camera. This month, my son got the iPod Touch. And I can definitely say that it is better than the iPad2! It is almost the same. And if you don't have any aversion to reading small characters, then I'd say the iPod Touch is better.

Great comparison. My officemate who also bought an iPad sold hers after around 3 months. She said she was too fed up by it being too big. I am now leaning more towards buying the iTouch.

I would get the Ipad Touch. I just like the way it works better. I do not have one right now, but I hope to in the future. There are a lot of site on line for you to compare them too and the sound quality too can be compared. The only thing I don't like about them is that every thing can go obsolete pretty quick, so I would wait just a little longer unless you need one right now. Good luck!

Thanks for your response. You are right, gadgets like these go obsolete pretty quick. It was a good thing that I decided not to buy one as Apple might release a new version soon. I also realized that I don't need it that much. I initally wanted to buy one so that I can watch movies, read ebooks, or do some work wherever I go but I realized that my old laptop can do that as well although it might not be as convenient. Oh well, guess it's just not the right time for a new gadget.
