How to fix a chewed up phone charger

I think I temp fixed my charger but I would like a more permanate solution. I had to splice the wires take of the red and black casing of plastic then winde the wires to gether and not let them touch. I would have put some electrical tape but I do not have any. Do you guys have any ideas?

Hi friend Do you remember that show mc gyber? You sound just like him. You know he always fixes stuff thats cool if you can save some money by fixing it thats great remember to put the tape when you finzd one.
