I broke a bowl on my foot

Yes, a ceramic bowl fell on my foot and broke into a million pieces, the same kind of bowl that I've dropped on the floor and it barely chipped, so how it broke I don't know. I was walking when my cat jumped out and startled me, and I dropped it. The pain wasn't that bad until I noticed blood pouring onto my floor. I grabbed the closest thing to put on it, which was a white dish towel, and needless to say, its now a pinkish orange all over(after soaking in bleach). so after five minutes or so of pushing on it to stop the bleeding, I took off the towel and I have a 1 inch by half inch hole in my foot. My husband, bless his heart, brought me a bandaid. Well that's not gona do much, so I put gauze and wrapped my foot in painters tape. It was all we had and it actually holds pretty good. And not sticky like duct tape so it doesn't hurt when you pull it off. And surprisingly it didn't hurt as bad as I thought, but that may be due to the couple beers I had afterwards. So that's what I went through yesterday. Today it didn't hurt unless I touched it until my darling son decided to throw a hot wheels car down. Omg! I want to die. Now the whole thing is throbbing and I can't even walk. Not that I was walking well before but now I simply cannot do anything. And its still early. So my day will be simply wonderful.... Moral of the story, buy plastic bowls!

oh my dear Silver Vixen why did you not take that foot to the doc tor as you may have broken a toe in this incident. as a diabetic I do not do self treatment on wounds of any size or if I have dropped something heavy like a ceramic bowl on my foot., I dropped a can of paint on my foot one time and my husband insisted we get my foot x rayed and sure enough I had broken a toe. it swelled up and hurt oh my the doctor splinted it with two pop sickle sticks and I went barefoot for several days as I could not bear anything snug on that foot.If that wound bothers you go see your doctor. better safe than sorry. Oh wow, sounds like that really hurt. Luckily it hit my foot halfway between my ankle and toes so there was no chance it broke one. I did check to make sure it didn't break another bone in my foot, but nothing hurt incredibly bad and I can move it all around with no pain. I'm usually the one who wants to rush to the hospital, but somehow I knew I would be over reacting. Yes the wound is huge, too big for a bandaid, but its not infected and its healing better than some smaller cuts I've had. But I do change bandages often and make sure I clean it well so I hope ill be okay. But it does suck that I can't wear shoes, and after it heals I think ill be wearing shoes inside for a while just in case.lil
