Any info on the Tenerife Islands?

I may have the opportunity to go to the Tenerife Islands with my family in the next couple of months. I have never been there (or to Spain). Does anyone have any tips/suggestions? Do people recommend going there? It looks beautiful in the ads and brochures, although expensive, I'm sure. I am always up for new adventures, but would love to hear some thoughts before I make any decisions. Thanks!

The Canary Islands belong to Spain and are in the Atlantic Sea. I went to Ferteventura when I was in my early 20s. I liked the beaches and found the weather in winter warm to hot. I went there with my mom and she also liked it. I would say that flights to Tenerife are cheap but accommodation there is pricey. So I suggest getting a package deal there.
