it has been said that time is money and if money can be stolen, who then steals it? were you lucky to have no one stealing your time? i would say i lost time to playing games years ago but when someone invited me that's the time i can safely say someone's denying me of my time. because i'm seen as needing a break they think i can go with them although i shouldn't be. then they ask me to join again. time stealers huh.. i should have said no from the beginning but i gave in and nothing is done about it.

If you are fond of invitations and cant reject them, then obviously you are killing your time and they are stealing. I have not interested on invitations and rarely go out with someone.... Have a nice time/

I feel obligated if the invitation comes from close friends. Why not? What I don't like is friends that invite over simple activities like playing games at some mall and so on. thanks for responses

Yes I have a friend who likes to steal my time. Whenever she fancies a chat, she expects me to drop everything and attend to her. Of course I don't and I assert myself to her that I have other things to do and that I am prepared to give her some of my spare time, but not all of it.

My mother's relatives seem to behave like you did when she shared all the bad experiences she had and no one was willing to react about it. Still, she had a great time chatting with her high school friends at a dinner. If not for the memories and friendships it could have been dull.

If by steal you me waste, then yes I have meant many of people who have done that. There have been a lot of people who have talked to me about the most inane things or things that they should have really known in the first place. It rather sticks badly when people do this. There are people who really should know better about some things but they hold me up and prevent me from doing what I need to do. Needless to say, I try and avoid these people as much as I can. Of course, they seem to be attracted to me for some disturbing reason. I cannot explain it, I'm sure I may or may not have a sign etched in my back that I'm not aware of. A lot of people I guess don't appreciate that time is a valuable commodity and it can be a juggling act to manage everything, without them being thrown into the mix. Some people, its frustrating to say the least.

That is frustrating indeed. We just have to be patient. They can either be young or old and there are different ways to stay away from them. The other reason they keep bothering a person and hence waste time is they find him the most trustworthy around or the one who is knowledgeable about something but sometimes do not go further then having a chat and share stories when you are wishing so bad you can go back to your business. Thanks for response megamatt :)

well from your discussion today, i just realized that I sometimes act as time stealer too. I sometimes go to a friend's house and talk with my friend for the whole afternoon. I just didn't think that she might have some things to be done and because i was at her house she was just forced to entertain me. Same with me, there was one time when i forgot that i had appointment because a friend visited me. That was supposed to be important but it was wasted because of that. So from now on i see to it that i could get away from time stealers whenever i have important appointments.

haha self-confessed time stealer.. that's not bad if you discuss a lot of things that have some worth. it's only that when you never realize the other person need his/her time that it goes awry. i have the same mistake either that it's hard for me to just say no. when it comes to friends its not easy to refuse.

I have met some of them but I always find a way to get out of there. It is like killing your time by talking. I hate talking for hours, it makes me sick. Instead I love playing games and do some research on the topic that interest me.

I feel sick of speaking too and writing seems to follow and because of this I'm setting aside time to get better. I like games when I was younger but these days it's not as much knowing how much work and things to learn are waiting for your attention.

yes as they said time is gold, so whenever you waste your time, it's like your wasting gold right? lol! well i think what you do is enjoy, so if you enjoy doing something with friends, it cannot be called wasting of time or you're friend is stealing you time. i think they make your time worthwhile because of enjoyment.
