Congratulation to the people of Cuba, who finally after decades of destruction under Castro, are finally getting some freedom back.

Capitalism has returned to Cuba, as the ruling communist party allows private business back.
Once again, socialism always fails. Always. China realized this. Cuba has now realized this. South Korea, Laos, India, and the list goes on and on.
Government programs, social insurance, health care, and every other government system, is no substitute for people being able to open their own business, hire workers, sell products, without government control.
Hopefully Cuba will work its way back to being a 1st rate nation again!

That's awesome, but it's still control by the Communist thugs, which means they can end it as quickly as they granted it.

True, but from an economic perspective this should by eye opening reality, that socialism simply doesn't work.
My point is, when we talk about Social Security, Welfare, Government run health care, Medicare, and so on...
Hello.... It doesn't work. Social Security is going broke... because socialism always fails. Medicare is going broke... because socialism always fails. Government stimulus didn't help... because socialism always fails.
Clue phone for America.... There's a reason why we're the most wealthy country in the world, and the Soviet Union doesn't exist anymore.
And trust me, it's not because Obama saved us.

While I place no faith in any one political philosophy, I do not think even the US, hailed as model democracy, is free of all you accuse Cuba of: The US has had socialized health care and other socialized programs (such as Medicare, Medicaid and the Vet health care, and foodstamps and welfare) for decades. And if you own a business in the US, then you would know the government constantly dictates your business and those who resist often go out of business.
